The filter, should be black and about 3-4 inches round will be located near the oilpan and block and thankfully you should be able to just turn it with your hand...counterclockwise...be careful as it may be hot.
If you mean that your constantly loosing water in your radiator then you have a leak. Leaks in the cooling system are under the hood or inside the car... when inside the car there is only one place that it can be which is the heater core located under the dash on the passengers side. the water will show up on the floor infront of the seat. Heater core replacement is a simple but painfull job because of its location. While getting your heater core at the local parts ask and they will confirm! lots of luck. It could be, but any of those would set a fault code and eventually turn the check engine light on. You may want to test for a blown head gasket. Coolant will seep into one or more cylinders and foul the plug until the engine warms up and clears the plug.

get amp checked out had same thing happen on my 2002 745li..turned out to be the amplifier and boy did it cost..around the tune of $1500...yeah thats what i said, but had to have it becuase like everything else it is all intergrated into the cars computer system
