If there is a Auto Zone around your area, you can get the oil and filter there with the step by step  instructions needed to get the job gone. There is a oil filter wrench for you to buy to remove the old oil filter, buy the oil filter cup that attaches to the ratchet, the other wrenches tend to crush the filters. Keep me posted be glad to answer any questions and give you instructions to the oil change procedure if Auto ZOne could not help you or there is not one around you.

Pretty much you have to jack the car up and put it on car stands. Make sure the thick heavy beams of metal - the chassis are what is on the stand. Underneath you motor directly, where you check the oil there should be like a single bolt around 8mm in diameter in a little metal tank. The bolt should be not attaching anything and in the middle somewhere. If you undo that the oil will come out, watch out it will be hot and make sure you have like a bucket underneath. Then find the filter - match the one you got to the same thing under the hood. Undo the old one then put the new one back on only HAND TIGHT. Then put the bolt but in the hole and fill with oil. Don't fill it too much and don't fill it too little. Add around 3 litres then slowly add more while checking the dipstick. Shoud get you out of trouble didn't know how simple you needed it.

2006 ford escape.. #1. abs light on & stays on. #2. 4wd light comes on,flashes 8 times then gos off

Changing the sensors &/or tone ring may work temporarily but it won't last. I have a 2005 and have had it done and it kept happening. Had it serviced at dealer, asked dealer how to fix it or make light go out and on and on....after I think 5 yrs. it is still on. It hasn't affected my vehicle as far as I can tell. Comes on blinks 8 times, goes off....drive another 8/10ths of a mile and it comes back on, flashes eight times...and so it goes tidily bomMust be an Escape kinda thing.

I have the works (oil change, tires rotated, etc) as recommended by dealer. Also, air filters, cabin filters etc. I am due for an oil change and the last time I was at the dealership they stated I...

Actually, I had a transmission rebuilt by a certified transmission shop and they recommended that I go to a shop to have it flushed and filled every 30,000 mi. and that it was better than draining and filling with a filter change.

Changing oil filter

There may a plastic cover under the engine with four 10mm bolts, take off 3 and swing it. If you don't see a cover, follow the dipstick tube down to the bottom of the engine, the filter is right next to it, in the front of the engine next to the oil pan. It is the regular screw on type, just a little fella.

Steps to change oil in 2006 ford escape hybrid. Need to know where the oil filter is and the oil pan.

The oil filter is usually found on the side of engine. Here's a really good how-to guide article on how to change your oil and everything else related to it:

This should help!

Good luck,

Transmisssion filter

I have a 2002 escape so I'm not sure how much different it is for you.

There is a pan on the driver's side of the engine up towards the front by the radiator. It is sitting vertically facing the front of the car. I went through the painstaking process of pulling mine off to find the transmission filter, only to find it didn't have a filter. Everyone told me it had a filter, even the dealer. All lies =) Don't waste 3 hours of your time pulling that thing off and then trying to get it back on.
