Worn slide gear or selector not pushing it right in gear, worn bearings.

Saw your post on another thread. I have the same truck. The fuel filter is located on the rail just below the passenger door. Its an easy one to remove,...couple bolts, but access to it is a pain.

there are dent and brass balls that are in your transmission and are used to hold the shifter into each gear when it starts poping out of that means that those dents and brass balls are worn down and i would suggest getting the transmission rebuilt.

pull the shifter out and check for bent and worn parts, most likely the shaift rails are worn out and it is stuck between gears.
