Sounds like you covered all the bases, which is good. I would now start looking at fuses and wires. Start at the battery. Other than the battery cables, look at the wires, look for anything loose, especially at connectors, wires that have worn or cut insulation, or wires that look burnt or are unusually soft. Check the connector and the wires coming out of the alternator too. Good luck.

Car not starting, whirring once ignition engaged

Check the obvious. Shift to park (also try neutral) If you jump from the battery to the starter directly if it turns then you may need to replace the solenoid. It may also be an ignition that needs to be replaced.

91 accord LX Won't start. I've changed the distributor rotor (b/c it was cracked and broke off) And the distributor cap. It has spark from the coil. Key in the ON position dash lights don't come on

The sounds wouldn\'t work on that vid but if it keeps cranking check and see if you have spark you can get a spark tester at seats or cheap if you don\'t have spark chances are the actual distributor is bad very common

I need to change my rear spark plugs

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait at least 90 seconds before performing any other work.
  2. Remove the ignition coil(s). The Spark Plugs are underneath the Coils
  3. Using a 0.63 inch (16mm) plug wrench, remove the spark plug
  4. CAUTION== Replace your Spark Plugs with the Original Type Plug Brand Name and Spark Plug Number OR you will have Problems with PRE-INGNITION: DON'T SUBSTITUTE to Any other Type Spark Plug. You might have to get them at the Dealer Ship.

You didn't mention distributor rotor. This part should be replaced with the dist. cap. If moisture in the ingnition circuit is the problem, try spraying entire ingnition system with WD40. This will waterproof wires cap coil and distributor.

1990 honda wont start or crank, the lights dont come on, head or inside the car

The distributor in the hondas has a function of also engaging the coil to create spark. No spark = no fire. Perhaps take a plug out, leave the lead on, hold it with INSULATED pliers against a solid metal part of the engine and get someone to crank the engine over.

If the plug sparks - coil and firing switch OK. If no spark, check coil first - remove main + feed lead from coil terminals and check on a meter for power with key on but NO motor cranking. No power = faulty distributor/firing switch. No other ideas sorry!

If it won't turn over you may want to check Battery cables for tightness and/or corrosion Starter solenoid Neutral or clutch safety switch

I have a Dodge Ram 1500 w/ 4.7L 2004 looking to change out the Spark Plugs & Ingnition Coils

yeah dude, this isn't that hard or take that much time, your going to wanna disconnect your battery like usual. to get to the plugs, you will have to take off that black air box thing on top of your motor, it is just like a couple screws or something. then you'll see the coils and just unscrew and replace them one at a time, the hardest ones will be the ones in the back, but even those ones arnt that hard to get out. if your check engine light comes on after it is all done just disconnect your battery again and then turn the key to erase the error thing and then replug in your battery. any more help can be found on google
