Hiya mate,
your right the battery is in the boot. take the blade out of the key and try opening the boot manually. Its probably ceased because they are never used. Jack the offside front of the vehicle remove engine trays. Where exhaust downpipe comes down look at the heatsheilding behind it theres a little covering which u can remove. take that off and Put the positive terminal onto the terminal. Earth the black wire of your jump leads accordingly. flick on ignition and open boot. Do not crank engine! These vehicles should not be jump started
good luck!

The positive terminal on what?, on the battery it is marked with a big + and the one with the - goes down to the car bodywork

Why not get a buddy to connect a set of jump leads onto your battery which will give you enough power to open the boot ?

Aston martin rapide battery has died and cant open the doors

When the battery goes flat on a rapide the windows are up. The doors are frameless so the windows are located in the seals in the door aperture. You cannot open the doors and you cannot open the boot. Look through the front grille towards the radiator with a torch and you will see the bonnet release cable outer sheath. If you pull the outer sheath it will put enough tension on the cable to release the bonnet catch. With the bonnet open you can charge the battery. Negative clip on the alternator casing and positive clip on the central charging stud.

I have a 2001 Jaguar S Type in which the battery has gone flat and I cant open the boot to get at the battery to recharge it. Any suggestions.

How about using the key? if not possible then boost the vehicle, you will have a N and P terminals at the engine under the hood, look for a red plastic cap that will be your positive and as for the negtive you can use any place on engine.

Mercedes e class cannot open the boot

I have a e320 2003 model, the same has happened to me. I wondered if it could be the fuse but couldn't find a fuse that managed the boot.....
This problem is identical to the other post "boot wont open electronicaly by the boot release latch above the number plate, the boot release button inside the car or the key fob! I have to use the manual key to mechanically open it now."
