2006 Saturn steering wheel vibrates/shakes when coming to a stop.

I have a 2006 Saturn Vue. As I come to a stop, my steering-wheel starts vibrating/shaking. It's getting worse as time goes on. In describing it to the service agent, he said it sounds like a 'rotor bearing' that has shifted. It happens he says on all front wheel drive. It's at the shop now for a diagnosis, could this be true? On top of that, once I start up again, it's a dull sluggish pull that comes from the back area ... like a tug of war between the front and back. After a bit, the back area seems to fall into place with the front. Does this car sound like a lemon? or is it really normal?

Your brake rotors need to be turned down. you need to check the brake pads while your at it. if they are thin. change them and pack the bearings while there out. and change the inter greace seals. then your good for another 50 - 70 000 miles. also ask them to pull the rear drums and check for wear. they call it free inspection. this is sometimes caused from water splashing on hot rotors, makes the brake pedal to pulsate...

good luck & good day

You have drive shafts which rumble

You have wheel bearings which roar

You have brake disks which warp and cause the steering to snatch and shake when you put the brakes on.

You may even have a problem with the back brakes binding on, which would make it seem that the handbrake was on when you pull away

If I were looking at it I would go for the brakes

I'm sorry to disagree with your mechanic, but it sounds to me like your rotors are warped.I would go ahead and replace rotors and pads with an estamated 5k sounds like they are thin.

I cannot turn the switch and the steering wheel is locked on my 2006 Saturn Vue

Can you give more details towards what you see and have done or checked? Is the battery dead? Did you check to see if the steering wheel is pulling against the ignition lock. Maybe the wheel needs to be turned one way or the other to take the pressure off the locking mechanism.

My Vue front end shakes when I go over RR or bumpy

Stop driving and have this checked out ASAP.

You have a worn, loose or broken track rod and/ or streering rack. Also the front suspension should also be checked just to be safe

That sounds like a power steering issue. Does it make the sound when the car is stationary?
