99 audi a6 2.4 oil light and abs flashes, rev counter stops working and auto box malfunctions.

is it just the instruments that are acting up? if so thats probably a bad connection somewhere that, when in a certain temperature zone, say from 90 degrees to 130 for example, doesnt have enough current but when heated, regains the current. but if you mean "auto box malfunctions" as in your automatic transmission does not work, then its time to have some pros take a look at it.

Oil level and oil temperature are normal. Oil

Same here....I soon had the same problem after changing the oil..Found out after many tests and research that auto parts stores cross reference a lot of audi oil filters to the vw counterparts..Which do fit audi, but are shorter and lack the oil capacity to feed the engine. Then the pressure light pops on!!!! make sure the larger/longer oe type is installed. If your not sure buy it from audi its not much more than the napa brand.

check your engine oil. if you see any coolant or water in the oil then most likely your engine gasket is burnt. I hope this helps

Type of oil for audi tt 01

The best oil for that engine is mobile1 0w-40 european car oil, that is what the dealerships will use.

Depending on what temperatures you will be operating in you can also use a 5w-30 or a 10-w30.

Always use a fully synthetic oil in the Audi 1.8t, they have lots of sludge problems due to the turbo overheating the oil and breaking it down.

"oil" displayed on start up

most cars have a self diagnosis proceedure during and just after startup. this is not a fault unless it appears while going round corners or just generally driving around. you have had the sense to check your levels and pressures then i wouldnt worry too much about it unless it stays on or is as i say on while driving.
