Sounds like you may have a bad ECM, EngineControlModule. Gauges on the InstrumentCluster are known to go bizirk when the ECM is on its way. Where is clutch release lever? how to remove?


the clutch release lever is that arm sticking out of the side of the bell housing for the gear box
On most vehicles it cannot be removed from the outside but only if the gear box is pulled
As it is just a lever mounted on a ball and has fingers on either side of the throw out bearing there is no reason to remove it

I have a 1947 Mercury with a 1951 engine, the clutch will not disengage.


probably will find that the throw out arm is not adjusted to bring the throw our bearing close to the pressure plate fingers ( assuming that every thing else is correct). The pivot ball for the arm is adjustable in the bell housing to take up so much slack. Other than that the clutch plate is not being released or the clutch plate is in back to front and the hub is hitting on the flywheel bolts.

I have a 1995 Chevy s10 with 4.3 vortex 5 speed. I jus installed a new clutch kit. After getting it back together I tried to press the clutch and its really hard to push what's wrong?


check that throw arm has not become disconnected from the pivot ball in side the bell housing during the installation of the gear box. This can some times happen and the arm is pressed against the opening and doesn't press on the pressure plate fingers.. Check that the fingers of the throw arm are still properly positioned behind the throw out bearing and not behind the bearing carrier.

Ok we'll I'm trying right now to unscrew my old ball end shower arm and cannot for the life of me get it to unscrew and can't understand why?? I'm not too sure how long it's been there but it won't even...


use multi grips and unscrew the shower arm from the wall and attach your new arm in its place
use use multi grips on the knurled section that holds the ball ( shower head ) on and fix your new shower head in its place finger tight

Yes i just bought a short throw shifter for my 2003 alero but i cant find out how to swap out because there is a plastic O ring around the factory shifter that i just cant remove.


I have a 2000 Alero Gx coupe.. Same setup. I had to use some sort of plyers, Grip the stock rubber shift knob, and twist to the left as hard as I could to get it unstuck, then set plyers aside, and unscrewed with my two fingers. Once off, that safety feature and spring slids right off. you can use it with a custom knob, unless you are cutting it down to make a short shifter (Or a short-shifter kit, either way works)

How do i change the selector rod seal on a 350 box


Do you know what a Slide Hammer looks like? A long rod with a handle on the end, and a weight that slides on the rod. The weight hits against a stop made into the handle. At the end of the rod you attach various tools. You can attach a hook, or a threaded bolt, or screw, and many other attachments.

The reason I described a Slide Hammer, is that there is a miniaturized version of it, to remove hard to get at seals. At the end of this tool it has two 'fingers'. (Spring steel pieces of hooked flat metal) These fingers are forced through the rubber part of the seal, and the fingers spread out. They catch the metal outer ring of the seal.

Then the weight on this small slide hammer is slid hard against the handle, and after a few taps it withdraws the seal.

Kind of pricey if a person just wants to use it one or two times! However it is the proper professional way.

There is another method that you may want to consider. Not a professional method, but if done correctly, it can save you in a pinch. (And also save $80 to $100 for the above tool!)

With this method you have to use care not to scratch the selector rod shaft, nor accidentally scratch the bore of the transmission, where the seal goes into.
A sturdy pick tool with a curved hook end is used. You carefully feed the tip of the curved hook, through the rubber portion of the seal. Then you clamp a pair of vise grips onto the pick tool towards the end of the tool. (Opposite end of the curved hook)

Making - Sure the tip of the hook, is resting against the middle of the metal part of the seal, you tap the pair of vise grips with a Small hammer. Tap the vise grips so that they are pulling against the tool, pulling the seal out.

Use the tool to pull out on the seal's metal ring on one side, then slide the tool over to the opposite side, and start tapping again. Keep working around the seal, until you work it out far enough to grab it with pliers, or needle nose vise grips.

Check the fuse block, modern radios use 2 power wires, one switched and one constant power, you are missing the constant voltage for the memory, they can also throw you a curve ball by having an inline fuse on the radio harness.

Have a 2007 dodge nitro. how do you get to the rear tail lights to replace the bulbs.got the plastic plugs out and now wontseat back in


when the plugs are out, grip the lamp (I try to get my finger in as far as I can at the top corner) then pull it out straight back,I have seen the lamp and the quater damaged when someone uses a screwdriver to pry it out.there are 2 small balls that clip into plastic sockets in the rear quater, you need a T20 torx bit to remove the retaining screws from the lamp holder, the holder needs prying to free it from the housing. Test the lights before re-fitting, when the lampholder is re fitted slide the light unit in squarely and "pat" it with the palm of your hand to engage the balls, the holes should be in line to re-fit the plugs.
