Mercedes c180 engine 111

Hi There, How to replace the camshaft advance mechanism on my Mercedes c180 203 model, year 2001.? Regards, Martin.

Watch some video on any motors
VVT or VCT Actuators

Not a job you do at home, unless your very skilled
& knowledgeable

The front of the motor has to come off

That could take a day to do

Hi there

BAS is the Brake Assist System and if there is a malfunction it would only come into play in an Emergency stop while applying full pressure. BAS applies full braking force because people tend to lighten up their pressure on the pedal in these situations. I would suggest that the best thing to do is go to a Workshop or Service Center and have it checked out. Please remember to put a good rating on my profile.

Battery base has a device that clamps the battery on a step/notch on the side. Use a ratchet with an extension to loosen. Once it is loose you can remove the battery.

I'm going to take a WAG.. Your engine won't shut
down with the key?
If so, he is the way you find out:
In your injection pump, the vacuum diaphragm which kills the engine is the one which has the fitting pointing parallel to the ground.
The vacuum line which serves it is a brown/blue
To check the system, first check for vacuum in the line. Run the engine for a minute or so. Cap off the brown/blue line.
Turn the ignition switch off and then with hose in hand, uncap it and you should hear a hissing sound. If you have a vacuum guage, obviously, use it for the test, you need a minimum of 10 inches to kill it.
To test the pump diaphragm, you can rig a vacuum line to a known vacuum source close to the main "T". Run the engine and with the line connected to the diaphragm, connect it to the good vacuum source, if it kill the engine, the diaphragm is good. If you have a hand vacuum pump it would be more ideal, because you could check the diaphragm for small leaks.
If the diaphragm is bad, it is easy to replace on the pump.
The shutoff diaphragm lists for $86.00

You can try to clean the ground behind the instrument cluster to see if that helps but most likely the sending unit has gone bad in the gas tank.

Well the first thing i would do is scan the computer for codes,but without a scan reader you cant. see if it has fuel preasure,start there.

i think your car is not recognising your key.Sometimes the battery runs out and need replacing and if you are not lucky then you may need to contact a dealer to have the key reprogrammed..this will cost you..
