2000 gmc 3500hd 7.4 after the trucks gets up to temp it starts back firing and sounds like a spark plug blew out .

Simply a 'spitball' guess, but it almost sounds like it could possibly be an exhaust leak either where the manifold mounts to the head or a cracked exhaust manifold.

I'm not sure if that engine came from the factory with exhaust manifold gaskets or not.

Crack or gap is closed while cold or cooler and opens up the crack or gap as the manifold get warmer or hot.

Hope this helps.

3.8 crack in exhaust manifold whats involved in changeing it

the 3.8 ltr engine is a v6 configuration , so there are two exhaust manifolds... one at the rear (firewall side) and one in front.

the front one is easier to replace of course.

My manifold is cracked on my 99 hyundai accent i have a used one from a 2000 hyundai will it work if i change it?

Many of these Hyundai exhaust manifolds are cast steel not iron. Cast steel can be welded! It will still probably need to be removed to be repaired but it is an easy repair. I do recommend grinding a "V" groove where ever can see a crack and then welding up the V grooves. You can use stick, wire feed or probably even gas welding but I'd try to avoid gas welding it.

When driving i can smell gas in my 2000 lexus es300

possibly your O rings which isolates fuel injectors from engine block are getting old and letting gasoline go out. it is very dangerous since it can cause fire. do not drive.

another cause is broken loose or cracked fuel lines. this is equally dangerous since it is under hood close to hot exhaust manifold.

if smell is from exhaust manifold, which means not the smeel of gasoline but exhaust fumes, this can be caused by broken exhaust manifold or a crack on it or problematic exhaust manifold gasket.

My 1999 Jeep Wrangler keeps cracking the exhaust manifold. Is there a fix ?

The best fix is to install the two piece OEM manifold from the later model (2000's) wranglers. There are also manifolds with accordian type flex joints for sale on line that will last MUCH longer than the one piece OEM manifolds.

Jeep engine swap 2000>1997 4.0

engine controls are likely different... Make sure that you retain all old stuff and know where it hooks up. It's easier to change any different sensors etc before you install into vehicle. make sure that accessories on front of engine are the same, and that exhaust exit on pipe is located in the same place. Exhaust manifolds like to crack where pipes are joined together. make sure they are OK before using manifold. Base engine assembly is identical so there shouldn't be any major problems. If new engine has over 150k on it, you may want to change timing chain before using it. (its not mandatory, but you would be surpriseed how many engines, I've seen with fairly worn out chains at that mileage)
Good Luck
