The brake fluid will go down as the brake pads wear. it also can leak at any wheel cylinder check for brake fluid on tires, the front of the master cylinder can also leak in to the brake booster. a brake line can leak if hit by stone ect. If some one presses the brake pedal that kind of leak will show up.

Im losing brake fluid in my resivor as fast as i put it in what could be the problem? its a 1999 kia sportage

well, if fluid is going down. then you have a leak. either in the brake lines or a bad wheel cylinder. if you can not see the leak. have someone push on brake while you look under the car. if the lines you will see it spray out. but if you do not see anything check for brake fluid on the inside of back wheels if it has drum brakes in the back, this means a brake cylinder is bad.

Brake fluid resivor

It is mounted on top of the master cylinder, which is mounted to the brake power booster, bolted to the firewall on the driver side of the vehicle. Should be a white plastic container with a black lid.

Lost brakes with no worning

You probably have a rusted out hole in one of your brake lines. Put fluid in the resivor, look under the car while someone steps on the brakes to find the leak.

Brakes/fluid

The only way that the fluid would get out is if the cups are bad in the brake cylinder or the adjuster on the break shoes has locked up and fallen off. You would hear a grinding noise if that happens. Also look at your break fluid resivor to see if it's low in the small side that will tell you if it has been leaking.

Bad brake line somewhere or bad brake cylinders. The extreme braking you did to avoid the truck poped a weak brake line "most likely" or brake cylinder.
