Changed battery in 1995 Camry and radio is in lock mode
I have had this car since 1996 (Second Owner) and in the past have not replaced my own battery because of the anti-theft system in the car. However due to tight money I change battery and forgot about anti-theft system and now my wife nor I can remember our 3 digit code. Need your help, the number on the front of the radio is Toyota A11712 (upper right corner) and there is also a number at the bottom of the radio which said compact disk 34210.

The sec displayed is security code in case radio is stolen it cant be used without entering the code. Owner may have disconnected battery and didnt put a memory saver in lighter outlet so it locked. If you go to dealer they can retrive the code for you then you enter code and radio should work.unless they changed the factory code. If not and code from dealer works keep in car or safe place so you have it. Usually no charge to do retrival at dealer takes 2 minutes. Hope this helps
YOU WILL HAVE TO RE ENTER THE ALARM CODE IN THE RADIO; TOYOTA`S RADIO`S ARE ALL THEFT PROOF IF IT LOOSE`S POWER IT WILL NOT PLAY (ie) TURN ON UNTILL THE ALARM CANCELATION PROCEDURE HAS BEEN DONE!? CHECK OWNER`S USER`S GUIDE. CALL A DEALERSHIP!?
There's a dedicated fuse for radio. But most newer cars if you take out battery radio goes into "enter code" mode (security feature). You have to know special code to your specific radio. Info doesn't usually make it to second owners.
Radios go into safety mode when power is lost like a battery being changed. The only way to find out the code is if you can contact the original owner and they still remember or you have to take it to a VW dealership service station. The service department can find out the code it might co$t you though.
