Hello I have a 1985 bmw 318i my car will not start but every thing work when I turn the key on it will not start

That present just got really expensive. A short circuit like you are talking about could have damaged a lot of things in the car.
This could be caused due to no voltage at the battery junction block at the 6mm2 black wire, which is located in the engine compartment, which will result in no electrical current to the DME main relay and fuel pump.
To remedy:
Open the harness and inspect the fusible link which is located approx 6 inches from the battery terminal. If the fusible link is open then use an ohmmeter on the vehicle side of the link to ascertain if a short to the ground has caused the fusible link to open. Replace the fusible link if:

On a 1994 Chevy suburban there's no power to anything that would be powered up when the key is on all items except the door locks work i.e. head lights, dome lights. And cigarette

Ignition switch possible or a main fusible link. go to free wiring diagrams .Enter your vehicle info . year , make , model an engine . then under system click on electrical distribution . subsystem -power distribution . Click on the search button ,then the blue link . Check out the wiring diagrams .You'll need to do some voltage testing to find if voltage is missing . This vehicle has eight fusible links ,one feeds the ignition switch . On the fire wall there should be a junction block where all these fusible links are connected to a main wire from the battery . You can try to see if one is burnt by pulling on them , you will feel the insulation stretch if burnt inside .

My Starter does not engage when I turn on the ignition of my 1985 Volvo 244. My lights work and my battery has been tested and is ok.

First, check your fusible link, your positive battery cable goes to starter and a fusible link is incorparated,it could be burnt or melted, not giving power to starter,if link is good then here's how to remove and take to Autozone to have tested,it's free and only takes a few minutes.

Where is the fuseable link located on a 95 Chevy suburban

Fusible links are located either under the instrument panel (Dashboard) or under the hood of the vehicle. It is a wire with a fuse attached to it. Usually it says in engraved letters or a sticker on the side of the fuse,"Fusible Link". You have to look for the wires that have a fuse in between them. They stand out from all the other wires. sometimes they can be located inside or under the glove box too.

85 ford tempo injector curcit has no power, checked curit with nod light and did not get a power response. cloud you try to help

  • There is a fuse panel located behind the left hand side of the instrument panel. Check to see if the fuel injector fuse is good. Should the fuse look good then it is time to get out the multi meter or test light and diagnose the harness. I have put up a diagram and a description of the the points to check. Sometimes it comes down to diagnosing. Check the fuse first.

No electrical current from battery where are fusible links

I realize this is a very old post, but I just encountered the same juice at all to ignition from battery......the problem was the 3 weird looking fuses attached to the positive battery cable. I replaced all 3 for about $12.00 and she fired right up. Some models have a fuse box/panel....mine does not, and these 3 fuses are critical for getting current to the ignition.
I'm sure by now you have it figured out, but for anyone in the future, this may help.

Have an 1985 mercury grand marquis have power to the ing swtich lights everything works except the starter no electric to the coil also I was told it is the starter relay not soiloid but, relay I can not...

You may want to start looking for a fusible link that might have burned.Sometimes they are located down by the starter and sometimes under the hood depending on the manufacturer. A fusible link looks like a plain wire but is indeed a fuse link and acts just like a regular fuse sometimes you will be able to see where it burnt through the insulation and sometimes you wont thats why i pull genlty on the wires and see which one starts to stretch.
