SOURCE: four wheel drive not working properly

while in drive, engage the 4wd, then shift into neutral for 2 or 3 seconds, then shift back into drive. it works for my '98 ram.

I would venture the guess that your button is broken. The easy fix it to remove it and jimmy rig something manual to activate the function. Then everything will work fine. Additionally, be careful not to let your contraption rub against the actuator under the dash in that area because it could spark while you drive.

2004 gmc z71 pickup on and off grinding noise left front when driving

Jack the wheel up and grab it at 12 and 6 o'clock. Try to move it in and out. If it moves then the wheel bearing is going bad and must be replaced right away. If the wheel won't move then take it off and check the warning scrapers on the brake pads. They are on the inside pad so use a light and see if they are contacting the rotor. If thy are then new pads are in your near future. One of these should solve your problem. Hope this helps.
