Question about 2003 Nissan Se R

1 Answer

Brake and battery light

Hello...i have a 2003 sentra spec-v with about 106000 on the odometer. I've had a couple things materialize over the passed few days. First, my gauge cluster lights up in its entirety and the car shuts down (happens sequentially and at random). I tightened all battery terminals, checked fuses, checked the battery and altenator....nothing came of it. I might also add that I had the struts, strut mounts, brakes & tires done the day before this started happenening. Just the other day, the brake and battery light came on together. Those indicators came on a went away at random. I'm back to the car doing the first even I mentioned (gauge cluster lights up and car dies). I'm thinking a short somewhere (although I haven't a clue where)...any thoughts

I hope you dont mind my thoughts..but the ignition switch controls all of the electrics and everything... and that would be what i would replace first..it has many numerous contacts that could fail..so i hope this has helped

I have a 2003 Nissan Sentra SER SPEC-V and have done all my own work. When the battery was replaced, was the Positive battery terminal taken off first, before the negative terminal? whenever doing work on a car with a ECM, the rule is: Negative terminal is ALWAYS taken off first, then the positive terminal. After changing battery, the positive terminal is put on first and then the negative terminal is put on last. I am not saying that you have an ECM problem but they can be damaged if you take off the positive terminal first.
Do you have any "check Engine Light" code issues? If you do, and you have access to an OBD2 code reader, check if any trouble codes come up. If you do not have access to one, you can go to an Auto Zone or other parts outlet and they will read it for free. Confirm that you have or do not have any Trouble codes. Let me know what you find out.

Note - not a solution..just adding my woes!
I drive a 2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V.
My car suddenly stalled 1 day and the engine wouldn\'t turn over. Brought it to my mechanic and had the Camshaft position sensor replaced by my mechanic. The car ran fine for about 2 weeks and then the light was back on with the initial symptoms.

Took the car into the dealership and they diagnosed it again as P0335. Said that the mechanic hadn\'t installed the sensor correctly. Charged me a bunch of money to replace the thing and not too long ago the check engine light is on. The Revs bounce around everywhere. Checked the code again and it\'s P0335 yet again! Am in talks with the dealership to get to the bottom of this...

97 nissan sentra with brake and battery light staying lit after changing battery. when it goes into passing gear light goes off then comes back on

These lights will come on if your alternator isn't charging fully. With a multi meter test your voltage at the battery with the engine running. The voltage should be above 14 volts. If it is below 14 you will need to replace the alternator.

Is there an access door too the fuel pump on a Nissan 2003 Sentra

You have to remove the rear seat cushion and there is an inspection hole cover over the sending unit and fuel pump. The 2 come out as one unit. Remove the fuel line coupling and then the 6 screws holding the inspection cover on. BE CAREFUL not to bend the level sending arm. If you remove the fuel filter, make sure you mark which way it came of so it cam be put back in the same way.

Hey

Most times when you have a cut in power when the RPM's are high that's most likely a "SPARK" problem. However it can also be a "GAS " problem. Does check engine light come ON if it is or even if it NOT ON there can still be a Code stores in your computer. My first thing would be a BAD CRANK sensor/CAM sensor. This is my recommendations you should have this vehicle place on a code scanner/computer AUTO-ZONE does this check for free then get the codes if any is present and get back to me asap. I strongly thing it would be a crank sensor but if not there is a 20% chance its a FUEL PUMP can meet the demand when you hit the gas therefore then engine starves and dies. LEt me know how you made out. Good Luck and Thanks for using FIX YA
