Replacements should be available from the dealer-if not then a salvage yard. You can bring as much of the bolt as you can extract to Napa or a Hardware store and see if you can find a match. To get the other half of the bolt removed, you can try using vice-grips to turn from the bottom (unless the head is still in the other half-if this is the case, you can purchase a multi-positional head rachet handle to gain access to those hard to reach places).

Where is the in line fuel filter

Fuel filter for the 98 Voyager is located on top of the gas tank. Jack the vehicle up and support it with blocks. If your tank is more than 1/4 full, support the tank with an appropriate jack and remove the two bolts holding the straps in place. Lower the tank enough to gain access to the filter. A new filter comes with the correct hoses and quick connect couplers so it's dead easy to replace. If I recall correctly, the filter is held in place by one or two bolts and a strap. Before removing any fuel lines or seals, remember to release the fuel pressure in the lines with an appropriate hose/container via the valve on the fuel rail on top of the engine.

How do you drop the fuel tank on a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan to replace the fuel filter?

On most these, there are two tank straps which are bolted to the undercarriage which hold the tank in position. It's easier to do with the tank empty or very close to empty. Place something under it to support it such as a jack and remove the bolts holding the tank straps in place, that should let the tank drop out, then you can remove the connections for fuel and electrical.

Replace fuel pump/locate

Unfortunately the fuel pump is inside the fuel tank...I have found the best way to remove the pump is to take the entire bed of the truck off..the reason is the straps that hold the fuel tank up have bolts that hold the strap to the frame my experience..these bolts will snap off , leaving you more work to drill them out an so on..if you do decide to remove the bed there are 8 bolts holding it to the frame...once the bolts are removed ,you want to make sure you unplug the harness for the rear lights and also disconnect the fuel inlet assembly, then you can slide it back just far enough to gain access to the top of the fuel tank..The fuel pump assembly(also called fuel delivery module) will have a large "C" type clip holding it in.Using a screwdriver, you'll need to pop it out from around the diameter of the fuel pump. Then you may need to turn the whole pump a little to remove it...being careful of the float arm that is attached to it. Also, there are tools needed to remove the fuel lines, which should be available for rental from autozone. Be sure to replace the fuel filter as not doing this may void the warranty for the new pump. You will need the special tools for this too.

Where is the fuel pump on a 1997 Mercury Cougar XR7 and how di get to it?

It's inside the fuel tank. Access is on top. Remove tank. 2 straps hold it in place.

  1. Relieve fuel system pressure as described under Fuel System Pressure Relief.
  1. Drain fuel from the fuel tank as described.
  1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
  1. Remove the exhaust system as required. Refer to Section 09-00.
  1. NOTE: The connections for the rear fuel supply return and vapor tube (9S278) to the fuel pump module are on top of the fuel tank and are inaccessible. They must be disconnected with the fuel tank partially lowered from the vehicle.

Disconnect fuel tank to filler pipe hose (9047) and vent hoses connecting the fuel tank filler pipe (9034) to fuel tank. Disconnect one end of the vapor crossover hose at the rear over the driveshaft (4602).
  1. Place a safety support under the fuel tank. Remove the bolts from the fuel tank support straps (9092). Take care not to deform the fuel tank or fuel tank support straps. Fuel tank capacity and/or fuel pick-up may be adversely affected.
  1. Partially remove the fuel tank and disconnect the rear fuel supply return and vapor tubes at push connect fittings using Fuel Line Disconnect Tool Set T90T-9550-S. Disconnect electrical connector from the fuel pump module.
  1. Remove fuel tank from the vehicle.

How to remove fuel tank

Run the fuel tank empty, if possible. The Jimmy's tank does not have a drain plug, but if the pump is still operating, then it is the only method of running the tank dry. An empty tank is lighter than a full one, and it makes removal easier.

Unbolt the fuel tank's protective shield by turning its hex-head bolts in a counterclockwise direction. The shield will then slide out. With it removed, the tank's bolts are now accessible

Disconnect the electrical and fuel line connections to the tank's fuel pump, located on the top center front of the tank. There are two (or three) different-sized fuel lines, and one wiring adapter plug that must be disconnected. The hoses come off by pinching or unscrewing their hose clamps, and the plug simply pulls free once its catch is depressed.

Unbolt the fuel tank by turning the bolts that hold it to the frame counterclockwise. The tank should be supported with a jack during this process, as once the tank is freed it will drop from the frame. Lower the tank out of the truck and use the jacks to set it aside to work on it.

If you going to replace the fuel pump:

Unscrew the two screws holding the fuel pump to the tank by turning them in a counterclockwise direction. Once they are out, the pump can be gently pulled upwards and out of the tank. Some residual fuel may spill out, so have a towel handy.

Replace the fuel pump by lowering it into place inside the tank, then securing its screws in a clockwise direction. The plastic fuel pump may be easily damaged by turning the screws too far, so only tighten them enough to seal the pump to the tank.

Replace the fuel tank into the truck with the jack(s), and tighten the bolts that secure it to the frame in a clockwise direction.

Reconnect the fuel lines and adapter plug. The fuel lines are sized for their nipple fittings, and should only fit onto the nipple that they were designed for. Tighten each one with a hose clamp. The wiring adapter plug should make a "snap" sound when it is properly seated.

Fill the tank with fuel and test the new pump. The pump should make an audible whine as the truck is started, and the whine should stop after a couple of seconds. The pump might make a softer sound after the truck is started--this is normal.

After two tanks of fuel has gone through, replace the fuel filter.

Good luck and hope this helps, Note the bolt that holds the gas tank strap may strip or snap. Just cut it off and replace by welding a new bolt for the gas tank strap.

How do i get to the fuel pump on a 1997 s10 blazer

Unless there is an access panel inside the vehicle above the fuel pump, you will have to remove the fuel tank in order to access the pump. Do not forget to replace the fuel filter. Partially clogged fuel filter is one of the causes of a failed fuel pump.

95 chevy blazer tank removal

Park the vehicle in a place where you’ll have plenty of room to work. If you have access to a lift, that would be great.
Relieve any fuel pressure by removing the fuel cap. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Pre soaking any required bolts/nuts with WD-40 prior to the job will help also. There are 3 lines and 2 electrical connectors to be removed from the fuel pump, and the filler and vent hoses that need to be removed from the back of the tank. There was also a small hose on the front part of the tank that needs to be removed, but we didn’t see it until we actually started lowering the tank. Just remember where everything hooks back up. Label the lines, if needed take picture with your cell phone.

Start by removing the skid plate, Once the skid plate is off, you’ll have access to the straps that hold the fuel tank on. The forward ******** the Blazer will pretty be rusted and not very stout. It's basically formed as a strap that ended in a threaded bolt and in most will end up breaking trying to remove it. Supported the tank with a floor jack with a transmission removal assembly on it.

You easily fixed the broken strap problem by welding a bolt to the strap. Once all the straps were loose, lower the tank just enough to get better access to the lines and connectors leading to the fuel pump. There is not much room to get in there on a Blazer.
Once the tank is off, it’s a good time to look around in that area to see if there are any other problems that may need to be addressed.

If you are going to replace the fuel pump here's how to do it. Before removing the fuel pump, be sure to clean off all the junk that has collected around it.
Replacing the float and sending unit is fairly simple. Just pay attention to how the old parts are removed, and install the new parts in reverse order. Be sure to get the wiring routed correctly and install the new seal that comes with the kit. The sock filter on the bottom of the pump was just a little bit clogged, so we made a trip to the auto parts store to get a new one. Luckily they had one that would match up.
While we had the tank off, siphoned what fuel was in there and cleaned out the tank really well.

The installation is basically just a reverse of the removal. Be prepared to take quite a bit of time for this project. It took much longer that I expected. Somewhere around 6-7 hours, but that’s including several little problems, getting propane for BBQ lunch, and making a trip to the parts store for a new sock filter for the bottom of the pump. And Mom and dad showing up.

Good luck and hope this help
