Well you have a couple of places to check.
Vaccume, to the a/c control head.
Vaccume from a/c control head to mode valve.
And mode valve arm, controling door.

Recently I got my **** kicked at work on one of these. That one ended up being the mode door sticking in the ducting. The foam had shifted over time and would cause the door to stick and not have proper range of movment.

You should take your car to a shop because it sounds like a wire might be disconnected or your ac is starting to go and you might need a new one

SOURCE: ac not blowing out top dash vents

The baffles that direct air, heated or cooled, are controlled by vacuum 'motors.'
You may have a vacuum line off somewhere or the vacuum reservoir is cracked or one of its connectors (thin plastic protrusions) is broken.

AC IS WORKING BUT NOT BLOWING HARD OUT OF VENTS AND CAN HERE FAN BLOWING HARD

Do you have an AC pollen and dust filter? If so it is likely plugged and no air flow is getting through. Another cause of this is that the AC condenser core inside the dash is plugged with dirt and leaf matter (cars without any filter) I really need the make, model, year to be more precise.

My 1996 Cadillac deville a/c only blows in the in the defrost side. Off and on blows through middle vents, but mostly in the defrost vents.

Blend door accuator? Need to look it up but that's a common FAIL in most newer vehicles. My truck did the same thing. It controls air movement from top, middle & bottom. There's 5 actuators I've found in my truck! I'm no expert in this area, but have replaced all 5 of mine due to failed plastic parts in the accuators.

Front AC cold but Rear AC very hot

Not likely, but Is Hot water flowing to heater coil in back? How hot is "very hot" Is it a refrigerant line? If a refrigirant line, Very Hot means it is hot gas from the compressor that "should be going to the condenser coil usually in front of the radiator. It's almost impossible for that Hot refrigerant gas to go to the cooling coil in the back unless you had some repairs done and they weren't certified. My guess is the radiator hot water is not being controlled properly, due to bad valve or control system components.

2002 ford explorer AC and heat blowing in dash, but very weak from the vents

On the motorcraft parts web site, you can blow up
a picture of the HVAC Blend Door Motors & locations,
as well as part numbers

You can get failed motor from Amazon

With knowing where the motors are located, try switching
the air flow modes manually, to see what positions do not work

Then you know what motors to replace

I also have professional scan tool software & can see the codes
for the motors in enhanced data.

The-- Vent Blend Doors-by name

Defrost-up top
Cabin -the vents as you say in the middle & on the sides
Floor
Recirculate-under the glove box
Blend Door -under the dash on your print

Air vent heater

Check the vacuum can on the ac box. It may just be a broken vacuum line or the can can be bad. There is a baffle in there that has to move from AC to heat. Sound likes there no vac getting to the baffle vacuum can. Could also be the switch in the dash board controller. Depends on what type of car it is.

Usually a sign of a faulty blend door under the dash. The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and evaporator core, plus the various ducts and vents.
