Battery Light On While Driving

My battery light came on as I was driving home from work. I pulled in the driveway, turned the car off and tried to turn it on again but it won't start. Radio, light, and horn work so I was told it must be the alternator. I got my air filter cleaned a few weeks ago when I went for my oil change so could there be something else? In addition I have had this occasional squeaking noise when I turn on the ac/heat or drive in water. The battery light came on tonight after the squeaking stop, could they be related?

If your belt isn't loose, then your alternator is shot, and i don't think your belt is loose... right?

Battery, brakes and check engine light came on but the car will still run when driving with the problem lights on the car transmission would shut down but the engine still runs if you shut the car off it...

Year make and model ?
On some cars the brake warning light and battery warning light are on the same circuit. A problem with either system will turn both lights on. The check engine light means there are trouble codes in the computer that need to be retrieved to assist in troubleshooting the problem.

Battery Light On While Driving-Mazda 2003

It does sound like the alternator, plus it's possible the squeaking could be coming from that or possibly the serpentine belt. If you take the alternator to Autozone, whether it's on the car or seperate, they can test it for you for free. If this helps please rate this. Thanks

Electrical problems

Sound like the car is not recharging the battery as you drive. Take it to a different shop and ask them to test the alternator and entire charging system as well as the battery.

There is without a doubt an issue in your cars charging system. Depending on location there are a few cheap options. First of all I would get the battery charged back up to full power on a lower amp charge. Once charged, start the vehicle up and see if you have the battery light on. If you do, drive it an autozone and have them check the battery and charging system for free. More than likely it's your altenator. I would first check for fuses for the altenator either under hood or in cab. The owners manual will give a break down of fuse locations and what each fuse gives power too. let me know if you need farther assistance
