over heating after driving for a period of time indicates that the cooling of the system is not at capacity and the heat generated by the engine is slowly building up
The problem may be in a blocked radiator ( partially blocked cores) cooling fins on the radiator cores flaking off, thermostat not opening fully, head not to proper tension allowing compression gas into the coolant, cracked head. travelling at too high a speed loaded, over drove not engaging
blocked fins on the ac condenser preventing air getting to the radiator
have a radiator flow test done , have a compression test done for the head and gasket
clean out any obstructions before the radiator,
test thermostat
replace lower radiator hose if soft
check that there are no air locks in the cooling system
may have air trapped in the system check this as well let the engine run to normal opperating temp shut engine down feel of the heater hoses going in to the firewall are they about the same temp if one is hot and one not the heater core stoped up if both warm the problem is in the hvac system
