I think you will find it is 2.5 inches. The best exhaust to go for is a Haywood & Scott stainless system. Make sure you replace the downpipe . The design of the factory one is very restictive. You can then go for a 2.5 or 3 inch sustem. They sound wonderful . Also if you are there you might as well go for a set of GT Spec Headers. Unequal length to retail the Impreza burble.

Hi , I have a subaru impreza 2009 with a po137 code I replaced ox 2 sensor banck 1 , reset the code but still coming back...any suggestion?

code p 0137 refers to heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) 2 bank 1---low voltage ===causes --exhaust leak---wiring short to ground---HO2S --ECM
it also refers to oxygen sensor(O2S) 2 bank 1--low voltage ===causes exhaust leak---wiring short to ground--O2S-- ECM
HO2S sensors are in the exhaust manifold before the cat converter and O2S are in the pipe after the cat converter there is a flex section of exhaust pipe covered by a stainless steel mesh and they crack under the mesh
I suspect that it is the HO2S that is faulty as it reports the gas composition of the exhaust gas so that the ECM can adjust the mixture

The sensor is on the drivers side exhaust pipe. Follow exhaust pipe to converter, sensor 2 is located after the converter.

I need the location of oxygen 2 sensor on 96 Maxima

bank 1 refers to the side of the engine. on a four cylinder there will onlyu be a bank one. a v-6 will have a bank 1 and a bank 2. Bank 1 will be on the same side of the engine as cylinder number one. Bank 2 will be the opposite side. Sensor 1 is always before the catalytic converter. Sensor 2 is always after the catalytic converter.

So , for example, if your looking for Bank1 Sensor2 it will be in the exhaust pipe after the cat on the same side as the number one cylinder.

What year manual transmission fits to a 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX?

Pretty much any "EJ" transmission will fit any "EJ" engine, the only problems are whether the clutch is a pull or push type release bearing? That will also make a difference how the clutch slave cylinder mounts up. If it isn't a turbo model trans, it will not take the HP that the engine puts out for very long. The Impreza STI manual trans will bolt up, but there will be some exhaust fitment issues where the down pipe bracket connects to the trans.

Location of the map and oxygen sensors?

MAP is normally on the throttle body. O2 sensors are always on the exhaust pipe, one near where the pipe attaches to the exhaust manifold the other back near the catalytic converter.

I was just wundering could i fit a 2ltr turbo exhaust

you may be able to from the converter back, maybe???? if the turbo pipe is the same diameter and the flange size. Of course, a muffler shop could make any modifications to make it fit. one thing you want to keep is that it all bolts together where it does now, So you can unbolt it for service.........Dont let them weld everything together.

Were is the o2 sensor for bank 1 on a 96 grand am 3.1

Passenger side exhaust pipe. some have the exhaust pipe 02 sensor just before the cat and then after, so the post cat 02 sensor is number 1 and after catilatic converter will be #2 so look on the the exhaust pipe Number one cylinder is #1 bank. look on intake manifold to see the #1 plug.

For a lot of engines (as long as they are not inlines), have 2. One just after where the exhaust manifold pipes meet up with the collector tubes. there is usually 3, one in each cylinder bank upstream from the cat and one after the cat if there is two cats, like the 96 and up full size V8, there are 4 total sensors
