Make sure there is no air pockets in the cooling system your vehicle with overheat is you have air in the system. Start by bleeding the cooling system by (while the vehicle is cold open the radiator cap go to a auto store and buy a coolant overflow bottle for bleeding the system the will know what your talking about. install it over the radiator pour in water/coolant 50/50 mix get car to operating temp and you will see the cooling system burp for a while that is a good thing allow this to continue until all the air has been bleed out. Good luck.

Thermostat and water pump have nothing th do with starting. The coolant level and temp sensor maycause problems and there is always the crank position sensor at the crank pully.. Let me know if any of it helped. Make sure all sensors are snugly plug in. Good Luck

If your guessing the thermostat, I think your guessing right. Easy job to replace it, use a fail safe thermostat next time to avoid this problem in the future. Good luck.

1993 Ford Explorer heats but when driving drops right down

you live in a cold place-the thermostat you replaced may not be good-try another one-or put card board in front of grille, not against radiator that could cause overheating- cheers Denny

98 explorer hood latch does not work

Hello.
  • Unattach the release handle from the dash and disconnect the cbale and get someone to use the palms of there hands to tap on the hood while pulling the cable with pliers.
  • If this fails then you will have to go through the grill and do the same at the latch
  • If this fails then you will need to remove the bolts holding the latch to the radiator support to get the hood open.
    Regards, Joe

Power stering stopped working radiator overheated

You have a broken fan belt. Put the new one on according to the diagram under the hood. Replenish your radiator overfill reservoir and recheck it until all the air is purged from the system.

    Need new keychain alarm button

Is this a factory installed alarm system? If so, unlocking the driver door with the key will allow the car to start. If not then you will have to remove the aftermarket alarm system to start the car.
If you have a factory alarm system you can get a new FOB (key chain alarm button) from a ford dealer, but it must be programmed using a scanner , before it will work in your vehicle.

    Cab Heater works sporatically

Alot of the new fords have small radiator leaks.  If the truck is low on coolant or running above 190 degrees the heater wont work.  Top off coolant and put in some radiator stop leak.  heater should start working now that the engine will run cooler
