Chevy Aveo grinding noise from accelerator when A/C is on

It will be the ac compressor clutch that slipping when after it has been activated/engaged. This happens when the engine is winding up the compressor clutch is not engaging strong enough and start slipping. However as the engine rpm stabilize on the ac compressor has caught up (same rpm) no slipping occur and no noise. Was the clutch mechanism replaced with the compressor replacement? (however it need to be checked/repaired).

AC compressor locked up and broke belt

That happens when the system leaks, not just refrigerant
but the refrigerant oil with it.

The clutch can be another problem.

Now you need to determine if the clutch is the only problem

If you seized a compressor, you have trash throughout the
entire system & at todays prices & a 1996 vehicle, I wouldn't
fix that.

The clutch or compressor alone you could have done,
but not if it burnt up & sent debris everywhere.

Your back at the correct place

The dealer has more work to do

You have misfire codes,etc they
will have to be more though

There has not been a tune-up in 25 years
All that is even related is spark plugs

Need to get to speed on vehicle education.

Sounds like you need to replace the 4-Way emergency flasher button because it is stuck causing your problem. Disconnect that flasher button and that should solve the problem. If it does replace it and your problem will be solved.

My A/C stopped blowing air today. What could be the problem? What do I need to have replaced?

FIRST look on top of your battery and there are 3 fuses. Pull them out to make sure the fuses or slots aren't burnt. That's a common problem in VW's. If those are fine it could be as simple as a relay switch or you just need to add freon. In my case(same exact think happened to my 2000 Bug 3 weeks ago) I needed a new condenser/compressor. Not a cheap or easy fix. Best to take it to your dealership to have it worked on.

Basically there are many reasons why the compressor is not turning on.Most cases if the system is low on gas or has had a leak then the first thing that happen is the compressor will not work. Try to have the system get a refill and see what happens. If that still does not solve your problem then you may need to get in touch with a refrigeration specialist. Hope this helps.

My a/c blows but not cold.

First you need to confirm that your compressor is actually working. to do this have someone turn the ac on while you are looking at the motor. You should hear a click and the motor bog down a bit this means the compressor is working ( if this dosnt happen you need a new compressor). After you do this let me know what happens and i can assist you from there. feal free to contact me at for more insight.

Heater stopped working today. Rear still working but not alot.

2005 Chrysler T&C Van. My front blower also stopped working overnight. Rear blower works fine. I swapped the 40A fuse in the underhood fuse box with the 40A fuse for the power seats since I don't have power seats. No help. I then swapped the front blower relay with the spare relay in the same box. No help. I'm wondering if there is a reset button for the blower and if so where it may be. Any hint or help with the blower would definiely be appreciated. Thanks
