Problem for Jeep 2002 Wrangler

2002 jeep wrangler factory fog lights will not turn off

at first the fog lights would not turn off then a puff of smoke from the steering colum and now they will not turn on. i have checked all the wires and none ore burn. i have checked the relay and it is good but the light indicator for the fog light also will not come on telling me that something in the colum is bad. please help

Its the switch. The wires may be ok but the switch its self has gone bad, sometimes the switch will fry and need replaced.
