There were some production changes in 1998 to the fuel pump wiring, so the connector can have 2 diff fuel pump power wire colors, the most common color is grey, but the the harness at the tank has just 4 wires, the larger wires at the four wire oval connector are the fuel pump 12 Volt and the other is the ground, it is black, the other 2 wires are the sending unit, also the connectors ( Chevy factory service bulletin) on this year had a problem with burning, so if you get a new fuel pump always replace the 4 wire fuel pump connector. I have attreached a picture of the connector

Changed fuel pump not pumping fuel not working correctly relay good getting power second fuse for fuel pump not working one wire fuel pump in back getting weal power 97 Saturn sl2

If I understand your post correctly you have a fuse for the fuel pump that is blown or blowing. Until you resolve that issue the fuel pump probably will not get enough power to run. If it blows when you replace it the you have a wiring problem to your fuel pump. Most replacement gm fuel pumps come with a replacement plug for the fuel pump. Make sure you use it if yours did as there have been lots of problems with the wiring plug being damaged due to the high current draw of the fuel pump.

My fuel pump quit working on my 2001 f150. the #10 fuse only has power to one side. how can I lose power to one side of the #10 fuse?

Each tank has it's own pump running on it's own power. If one goes bad it does not mean the other one will not work

Its not getting fuel to the motor. i was drivin down the freeway and it sputtered like it was ou of gas when i know it wasnt

Hello

Power for the fuel pump is supplied by fuse #16 in the Power Distribution Center (PDC), goes through the Fuel Pump Relay and then to the Fuel Pump and the ground completes the circuit. Power for the Fuel Pump Relay coil is supplied by fuse #18 in the PDC and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) supplies ground. It is a fairly simple circuit to check.
The first thing to do is check all the fuses, especially #16 and #18. If you have they are good then you will need to pull the fuel pump relay and check for power, with the key ON at the dark green/black wire and orange wire. The DG/BK wire is the power for the fuel pump and the OR wire is the power for the relay coil. If you have power there connect a jumper between the DG/BK wire and the dark green/white wire. You should hear the fuel pump running. If not there is a problem in the DG/WT wire from the relay to the pump.
Okay, lets assume that checks out fine, the next thing to do is replace the fuel pump relay and ground the dark blue wire. You should hear the fuel pump running. Okay? Good, now go to the PCM located on the firewall in the engine room. It has three large connectors, black, white and grey. There is a DB wire in cavity 19of the grey connector. Ground this wire and you should hear the fuel pump running. If it does then the wiring for the fuel pump circuit is all good and the PCM will need to be replaced. If it doesn't run, then you have a problem in the DB wire between the relay and the PCM.

1997 Ford F150 Electric Fuel Pump will npt pump

Did you check the fuel inertia switch in the passenger side kick panel ?

The fuel pump is powered :
the fuse to the fuel pump relay.
The fuel pump relay to the fuel inertia switch
The fuel inertia switch to the fuel pump itself.

At the fuel inertia switch in the kick panel, power from the relay is the Dark Green w/ Yellow stripe wire and the pink w/ black stripe wire is the power. from the fuel inertia switch to the fuel pump.

If you jumper the fuel pump relay, you should hear it run. If not pull the fuel pump relay, and check the pins in the relay socket, pin 30 should be the power from the fuse.

If you have power at pin #30, jumper the relay socket as shown with the red line above, and check the dark green w/ yellow stripe wire at the fuel inertia switch for power.
Press the button on the top of the fuel inertia switch, and check for power leaving the fuel inertia switch on the pink w/ black stripe wire.

This is tests good, check for power at the fuel pump, same pink w/ black stripe wire.
Fuel inertia switch info is in the owners manual, If you did not get an owners manual with your truck ( purchased used ), you can download one from Ford :

No power to the fuel pump. looking for a wiring diagram.

The 15a efi fuse pwoers the computer fuel system components including the pump. If you NEVER have pump power, I would check the FP terminal in the underhood diag connector...this is the FUEL PUMP POWER wire tap. If it never gets off zero at any key position (Run or crank) your problem is either wiring, the circuit opening/Fuel pump relay, or the efi main relay, or the fuse itself. If it has power in 1 position but not the other, suspect wiring, or possibly the airflow meter. fuel pump switch power is run thru the airflow meter, if its not hooked up, the fuel pump relay cannot be closed in the run position, or if its open internally or the contacts are bad.

1999 oldsmobile silhouette van won't start. no power to fuel pump

I have a silhouette and it had the same problem
Follow the fuel pump wiring harness to where it plugs into the floor of the van--pull the connectors apart--they will probably be corroded, and you will possibly have to change both wiring harnesses or connectors.

1991 chey pick up 1500 electric fuel pump

Hello, Only 2 wires show be hot when fuel pump power is supplied. I think that the gray wire is the power side so ck that wire to ground. Also, fuel pump power is supplied from your oil pressure switch and the fuel pump relay only supplies power for a few seconds until the truck is started. Keep in mind that the fuel pump will only run a few seconds by just turning the switch on. If you want the pump to stay on without the motor running , you will have to by-pass the fuel pump relay.
I hope this will help.

No power to fuel pump or to pump fuse at fuse block

You can get wiring diagrams from autozone.com -- they have parts of repair manuals online. I have the smae problem but the person I got my 88 fox gl from wired up a switch going to the fuel pump that you have to leave on while driving. I"m probably giong to fix this soon. It looks like the wire powering the fuel pump relay comes from the ignition switch. So if the pump side of the relay is good, but aren't getting power, you may want to see if your ignition switch isn't providing power on one wire, going to the fuel pump relay.
