1989 Camry radio problem

My radio has stopped working. It gets power, and it turns on and I can change the station, but there is 0 sound coming through the speakers, no static. I am assuming that there is a problem with the wiring, but I have no expertise at all and I don't have the money to take it to the dealer. Can someone give me a place to start?

You may want to check in fuse panel & see if there is one marked "amp" or similar. Perhaps it has an amplified system, and if fuse blows to amp, all sound will be gone.

hey, that sounds like wiring for sure, if your cd player is working fine and its just your speakers? then yes that would be a wiring problem, theres a bad wire somewhere in the system. either find out yourself where the bad wire is or bring it to someone who know how to repair those types of problems. good luck!

Radio work with all the light but no sound, this is on 2003 Honda Accord.

because the light on the radio come on with dash lights doesn't mean the radio is working, check fuse for radio,if its good, check for power at radio connection,if you have power there see if you can see a change in stations when you turn knob,if you do make sure all connectors are plugged in radio, now go to an easy access speaker and plug in a known good speaker

91 toyota camry- while driving (in the rain) radio suddenly stopped working, although station display remained lit and numbers were displayed. I smelled smoke, of an electrical nature. Drove home, parked...

You have a failed output section inside the radio. If you remove the radio, and take it apart, you will see some burnt capacitors at the very back side of the PC board. This is, unfortunatly, a very common problem with those cars. You are going to have to get another radio, the expense for the manufacturer to fix is is more expense than a replacement. Sorry, but I have seen this situation too many times.

87 Camry won't restart until 5 min later, but will turn over.

There is a little diode in your distributor that gets tired, and that's exactly what they act like. Either change it, or go to an auto wrecker and get a whole distributer. That's sometimes cheaper than buying electical parts.

2006 toyota camry JBL radio; controls don't work

THIS IS A RADIO PROBLEM, THIS PROBLEM WILL REQUIRE THE RADIO BEING SENT OUT TO AN AUTHORIZED FACTORY ELECTRONICS REPAIR CENTER, THERE IS NO BLOWN FUSE OR THE RADIO WOULD NOT EVEN TURN ON.
