You will need to unbolt but not completely take out the power steering pump pulley/assembly, you also need to loosen the serpentine belt (make sure you write down or draw or take a picture of how the belt goes on before taking it off), and take off the pulley attached to the water pump. You'll need sockets 12 thru 15 I believe, an extension for the socket drive, 5/16 socket (not 100% sure about size but have a whole set with you) for the pulley on the water pump, and the water pump itself and a scraper to clean off the old water pump gasket from the engine. If you can drain your radiator then do so, otherwise as you loosen the pump all the antifreeeze will spill out of the engine where the pump is. Loosen the belt. To take the steering pump off, you need the extension piece and the screws will be accessible threw the holes in the pulley (u have to feel them out if u can't see them). Put the steering pump to the side do not take it out completely. The rest is unscrewing the water pump pulley, then the pump itself, scrap off any dirt left by the old pump and apply new gasket and pump and reverse all the procedures. Good luck

Does the PS pulley have any holes in it? If it does you should be able to put the socket through the hole and remove it. If not use an offset box end wrench. Its shaped like a half moon and gets into tight spots. If you need the procedure go to and look it up. You will need a u/n and p/w to access the info. Google for the pair and you should be able to find ones that will get you access. If not your local library gets free access, you can get ti there.

If you had no noise prior to replacing the water pump then the noise will be at the water pump. Remove the belt and turn the water pump by hand and you should feel the noise. I suspect fan bolts too long or water pump bolts not fitted in the proper holes and hitting on the pulley. If the problem can be felt in the shaft of the water pump I would take it back to whoever fitted it and have them re do the job as it may be that the impellor is hitting on the inside of the engine housing water jacket.

94 bonneville dies if not spraying starting fluid in throttle body

if it only runs when your spraying fluid into it then you have a fuel pump problem that will have to be checked out.check to see if you can hear the pump run when trying to start the car at the fuel tank or by removing the gas cap and listening in the filler tube you should hear a humming noise.then while someone is trying to start the car hit the gas tank with something but not so hard you dent it if it starts then the pump will need replacing.the fuel pump is located in the gas tank.

Replacing bad camshaft position sensor

  1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
  2. Remove water pump pulley attaching bolts, then the serpentine belt and water pump pulley.
  3. Disconnect sensor wiring connector and remove sensor retaining bolt.
  4. Twist and pull sensor to remove.
Reverse procedure to install and prior to installing new sensor, lubricate sensor O-ring.

It is located under the water pump. Make sure when you remove the sensor that you rotate the crank shaft and look in the hole to make sure the pick up magnet is still in there. Sometimes they come loose and cause a no start or long crank. You will need to have the code cleared still.

I have a 1994 Bonneville that sometimes starts and sometimes won't. Fuel pump replaced. what else can I try? Seems like a fuel issue.

Check ground buss located under the carpet next to the driver's door.
Remove buss bar and clean corrosion. I had water under the carpet.
It seems to have correct my problem. Good luck.
