Think master cylinder is going out, had no breaks added fluid and pumped breaks seemed fine when to drive and went out . How can I be sure.

their are two brake lights one for e-brake on and the other is main brake system to alert you to low fluid in master cylinder --you have a leak somewhere look under vehicle for fluid by tires on ground even if you put fluid in master you still wont have brakes do to air in lines and until leak repair

My front left tire on my 2000 chevy silverado is leaking fluid,

Something on the break system is leaking, maybe a pipe or even the caliper, every time you push pedal you are pushing the fluid out of the system. There are two types of pipes, a flexible and a copper one, check both for leak, take wheel off first. ( Put it on axle stands not on bricks)

Brakes go to floor

If the brake master cylinder is full with approved DOT 3 brake fluid and the vacuum line that attaches to the brake booster is in place and not leaking or disconnected at either end, check for leaking fluid on all 4 tires, if you find no fluid at the tires indicating a caliper is leaking then the problem is the master cylinder being bad.

Oil leak in driver side rear wheel well for 2005 crown vic. drips down over top of tire and puddles under it.

Hi Don:
Have you checked to see if it's brake fluid?
Is it possible that the slave cylinder is leaking and the fluid is coming ot from the brakes? I can't think of any oil source in that area.

My 2006 Camry runs out of brake fluid very often. last time I fill it full and it lasted only 2 months until the brake light started flashing. I haven't noticed any leaks. what could be the issue. Roy

your break system should never need fluid, as your breaks wear down you will see a little lower level in the resivour. if you are adding that much fluid and you don't see any leaks at any of the wheels, your break booster could be leaking. where you add the fluid at the master cylinder there is a vacume booster that has a diafram in side, look carefully around the bottom of this diafram out side under the hood, I have seen them leak inside also where the break passes thru the fire wall you may feel the oil on the carpet under the dash. if you see no leaks keep looking you are loosing oil some where

My breaks go to the floor and i think its my

Sounds as though you may either have a caliper or hose or maybe even a brake line leaking fluid. You would need to remove the wheel to find the leak.

Fluid leak on inside of rear driver side tire

More than likely it's either break fluid or axel lube. Axel lube will smell really strong and if it's leaking out it will build up on the breaks and make the rear tire skid under heavy breaking. It is also very thick. Break fluid is thin and has almost no smell.

When breaking, there is a tapping sound plus you can see oil leak on the in side of the rear passenger tire. I was thinking about oil pan in the tire, please help me, because I know that it is not cv

If it is gear oil instead of brake fluid, then the noise and oil is from the rear wheel bearing (and seal) being bad. They would need changed immediately. Rick

Loss of break fluid, wet driver side rear

Check to see if the brake line is leaking. If it’s not , it is probably the slave cylinder. Remove the wheel, take the brake drum off and you should see the cylinder. If it is a disk brake. You have the inside brake pad plunge seal leaking. Sorry I don’t remember if the brakes are disk or drum, and I don’t have my books close. Either way it is a relatively easy fix. Parts are readily available at the auto parts store.
