My brakes wont hold I recently replaced pads and shoes but the problem still persists

When people say their brakes won't hold they are usually referring to the parking brake rather than the footbrake performance.

Low parking brake effort can be a nightmare to overcome and can take a deal of experience to recognise the possible causes.

Poor footbrake performance usually is associated with inferior friction material and/or contaminated or worn brake drums and discs though could be a failing servo unit or poor vacuum supply.

My mitsubishi galant 2000 model is has too much consumption, 30 litres for 200 kilometers without AC urban.

Many things can cause excessive fuel consumption. First, make sure that none of the brakes or transmission is dragging, or that the transmission is shifting properly. We had a car in the shop recently that had poor fuel mileage and one of the front calipers was dragging against the rotor. (also check the parking brake). Next, is everything up to tune? Good spark plugs, clean airfilter, good PVC, good Oxygen sensors, check for codes, etc. Check if there is a vacuum leak - (use a vacuum gauge). Lastly, if you have access to one, use a emission tester in the exhaust to see what the levels of hydrocarbons are. This will at least tell you if the engine is running clean. Sometimes poor fuel mileage might be a combination of things which all add up, like under-inflated tires, spark plugs fouled, parking brake slightly dragging and poor driving habits. I can always tell the customers who get poor fuel mileage by how often they need new brakes. Someone who lets the car coast and isn't on the brakes much usually gets much better mileage. Those who speed right up to a red light and then jam on the brakes at the last second usually have at least 20% worse mileage.

Brake problems diagnosis

this indicated you have warped rotors and or warped brake drums if it has rear drum brakes. also the quality of brake rotors is poor and the metal flakes off the rotors causing this problem to happen as well.

Land cruiser 2005 troop carrier brake stopping power is poor

Probably there is a leak in the hydraulic brake line hoses connecting the master and the wheel cylinder hose. Also get the brakes bleeded to remove any air the system. also get the check valve of the brake booster checked and the vacuum hose.

The parking brake sinks in completely I don't know if I need to adjust it or if a new cable is needed.

You start with rear brake inspection, both sides, and Adjustment. Then look into the e brake issues.... Brakes work poorly if you adjust e brake but service brakes are out of adjustment.

EF Civic Brake light turns off during braking w/lights on

The characteristic you described is almost always a ground connection that is not secure.

Check with an ohm meter the resistance between the ground at the light socket and the chassis of the car. Any resistance is an indication of a poor ground connection. Temporarily connect the return(ground) connection at the socket to the chassis using a jumper.

If all is correct with jumper in place determine poor connection location and repair.

Hope this helps?

Check that the brake shoes are adjusted correctly and that the new shoes ar'nt to thick. It is always better to skim the drums to fit new shoes if needed.Poor wheel cylinder will cause no brakes at that wheel unless it is siezed and not releasing
