Heater fan not working 1995 dakota

I have a 1995 Dakota V8 4x4. The heater fan is not working. I replaced the resister and tried a new blower motor. Still no luck. Could it be the switch?

should be just above the blower motor. You will need to remove the glove box door to gain access.

How do I get to the blower motor for a 1995 dodge Dakota to replace it ?

Bad design on the 1995 Dodge Dakota. The dash has to be removed to replace the blower motor. May want to replace the heater core while the dash is out to keep from having to remove it later for a leaking heater core.

Location of heater fan resistor

Hi Ronald,

The blower resister is almost always mounted on the blower assembly itself.

If not on your blower assembly, then locate your blower motor and look for the BLK/TAN wire on the motor, Trace this wire directly to the fan resistor block.

Do you know how to carefully feel heater hoses to see if coolant getting to heater core is hot enough? Has thermostat been changed lately, and coolant system flushed?

if u changed all of that then it should be the heater control . have u given direct power to the blower motor? it is possible that its faulty.

Blower stopped working.

Heater blower motor resister is bad, or blower motor its self is bad. Run 12 volts from an outside sourse to blower motor, if it runs its resister if not its blower motor.

95 dodge dakota heater blower not working

It has been a long time since I've replaced one of those. From what I remember you don't have to go through pulling the heater box out. You do need to remove the glove box assembly. Look up under the passenger side of the dash. If you see the bulge of the motor/cover hanging straight down then remove the cover and the motor will be there. If you don't see that then te motor is mounted horizonally. If that is the case then the fresh air door assembly will need to be removed and it is behind that.
Here is a quick check to see if the motor is bad. Thump the bottom of the heater box by the passenger's feet. if the motor comes alive or makes noise then it is bad. Also check the fuse and make sure that it doesn't work on any speed. (the resistor would prevent operation on only one speed or more but generally not all speeds)
