I have a ba ford falcon mark 2 that is having an engine problem. I have changed the fuel pump and the coils and still wont start. The car has 142000km on the clock and we have never had a problem until now. We have tried starting it with jumper leads and still nothing. The car wants to start but it wont kick over.
First Check for good spark at the spark plugs, needs to jump at least 5mm, now check fuel pressure and fuel flow. flow is most important as a blocked fuel filter will show good pressure and little or no flow . If you have no flow meter disconnect the fuel line on delivery side of the filter, fit a hose to the filter and the free end into a container, now crank engine for ten seconds , there should be around half to one pint of fuel in the container, if not replace the filter. The fuel regulator can cause problems if is stuck open , there will be little pressure in the fuel rail and injectors.
Its either no spark or no gas. Remove the fuel line and carefully crank it over..are you getting any fuel? If not possibly clogged fuel filter or bad fuel pump. If yes, are the spark plugs firing. Remove number one plug lead hold close to any metal surface on engine, crank over ..spark there..strong or weak spark? No spark check coil and associated parts.

Have you changed the fuel filter.
Your pump may be priming but the pressure could be against a clogged filter.
You might want to check the fuel pressur at the rail.
It might be a fuel pressure regulator problem

The only way to start an fuel injected car, is to have a fully charged battery, or a donor car with a fully charged battery, with good jumper cables.
