Your emission sensors seem to be just a 'spec' out of normal (I would not call them defective!), but it could also be tainted fuel. Just to pass test I would buy the gas treatment at your local auto parts specifically for emission testing. Ask them at the counter. It will get you passed.

check the cat. and the sensor/s on the exhaust pipe. change air filter and plugs clean out the intake. and check the EGR valve. there the main problems with an emissions fail. failing that check oil and water look for water in the oil (filler cap has white film on the inside). water look for a shiny oil mark. in still water. if any of them or both then that could be you problem head gasket has failed.

I have a 2007 Dodge Ram SLT Thunder Road with the 4.7L. Recently, the engine light came on the the motor shudders quite a bit. It has lost some power when gas is applied. Any ideas, the book says...

Go to Autozone or Advance and get them to hook up the code testing machine. It will usually give you a good place to start. Vacuum line leaks are probably the number one cause of check engine lights, but the amount of shuddering you describe sounds more like a random misfire due to faulty coils. If you are the original owner the emissions system may still be under warranty.

01 dodge ram 1500 5.2 4WD code P0455 evap system leak.

This code will not stall or no start of your engine, evap only work when engine is off, it is to reduce the fume your gas tank lets out to protect the o zone, but it will not pass Emission test, also could be some thing a small as your gas cap not sealing right.

Emissions code p0456 dodge ram 1500????? and how much 52,354 miles. can I just reset code? and how Thanks and God Bless All

the code your getting is for the evaporator emissions system, look for any vacuum hose or hose that's coming from the canister tank, and check to see if its bad or has rotted and fell off,or is closed off,any one of those hoses will cause that to happen,it may just be one that got knocked loose by accident, check any hose that has to do with vacuum or the emission system,a sensor is what caused that code to show up,so it did its job, good luck on finding it,you,ll know the problem when you come to it.

Check engine light on codespo404 andpo406

Hello and thank you for using Fixya.com. Your codes the computer is throwing have to do with the evap or emissions for your truck. The most likely cause for both of these codes to come up is the EGR valve needs replaced due to being clogged. The other likely cause is the gas cap being loose or not fitting correctly.

Diagnostic code P0456 for 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7

P0456 = EVAP Emissions Control System Leak Very Small

Is the gas cap on tight or is the seal damaged? If it needs replacement, get it from the dealer.
