Question about 2002 Ford Expedition

1 Answer

I have a 2002 Ford Mustang. My air conditioner is not working properly. It blows into the defrost when I take off and when I let off and go a steady speed it blows out cold. It blows hot air sitting at idle. I have had a ac man check for leak. There was no leak but the clamp over the ac compressor was gone. He replaced it with a temporary one until the exact part got in. It worked find during this time. Then it melted the temporary clamp. I then took it back to him and he replaced it with the new one & added free-on. My boyfriend and I have replaced the air compressor but I am not sure why this is reoccuring problem. It blows out extremely cold but only at a steady speed. Can anyone help me out?

Yes it does come out of the face vents. The air compressor, the clutch, the accumulator, & orings. has been replaced. There was a leak but it has been fixed. I talked to a mechanic and he told me to check the the relay switch? Where is this located?

If it never comes out face vents then u have a door actuator motor not working ,,if it jumps around letting off throttle then it is a vacuum problem vacuum under hood going into the firewall needs to be checked,,and vacuum resovoir might have hole in it if it is vacuum cantrol,,,the reason for warm and cald temp changes is probley not enough air flow threw radiator and condenser this will rise the high side and low side heating up the freon and it cant cool the freon down enogh to get col air ,electic fan not coming on would cause this or fan clutch (if it has one ) would also cause this .look for fan relay not working ,also did u change accumilator and dryer? ,also may have blockage in condenser i hope i shed some light on the problem

My air conditioner will only blow out of the defroster and not my front vents on 2002 ford taurus any suggestions

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak to the control head. When you lose vacuum the airflow defaults to defrost. Check the vacuum hoses coming into the car on the passenger side under the dash. Supply vacuum is the black tube. There are five colors. Blue, red, yellow, white, and black.

I have a 87 ford mustang 2.3 . The air conditioner will stop blowing from normal vents and blow from defroster vent. After a few minutes, it blows from the ac vents again.

There is a vacume hose going from the intake manifold to the passenger compartment. This hose has a check valve and a vacume resivore. When you steap on the gas the manifold vacume drops and the a/c goes to the default mode (defrost). The hose is small like a ball point pen's ink tube. sometimes the hose rots and leaks.

2001 Ford Mustang Cobra air conditioning problem

most fords were built to whenever the air is on to blow air onto the windows as well. most people dont notice it cause its only a partial air. if it is blowing out pretty hard then the most likely cause of that is that the little flap in your air ducting is stuck or the return spring on it has gone bad. hope i helped, good luck with the fix.

95 mustang Still tring to get air to blow out vents will only blow hot air out the defrost holes... no matter if i put it on vent or AC or heat its the same temp and it comes from the defrost holes Some...

check the vacuum lines in the selector switch. the baffles that switch from hot air and cool air are vacuum controlled and if the lines are detached or cracked the suction will not move the baffles.

1996 ford mustang convertible ac blows cold only from defroster

Does it still blow out the floor and defrost when you set the switch to those positions or does it alway blow out the defrost no matter what? If you can get air to blow out to the floor, then it sounds like you lost the switch that controls the airflow to the vents. If it only blows out the defrost, then you probably lost the vacuum to all of the switches. When the vacuum is lost, it will only blow out the defrost. Check the smallest line on the vacuum distribution block located in the corner near the brake master cyclinder. That line provides the vacuum to control the direction of airflow within the cabin.
