1995 gmc sonoma heater core removal, replacement. i need help removing the DASH.

About the heater core, in the manuel I bought at Auto zone, it gives all the steps and bolts necessary to unloose. The dash will swing out at the bottom, don't forget to remove the bolts under the speaker covers.

How to change heater core 1995 gmc sonoma

NOT FUN. this is a minimum of a 2 hour job up to 6 hours depending on skills. the entire dash has to be removed from the truck. the heater core itself is located just of center of the fire wall towards the passenger. A LOT of hardware will have to be taken out and kept track of properly or you will have problems getting it all reinstalled correctly

How to change the heater core after the dash is out of a 1998 gmc sonoma

Drain the coolant, on the engine side of the firewall remove the hoses to the coil. You may want to plug the coil pipes here, (some coolant will stay in the coil and spill once you pull it out into the pass floor). Inside the pass compartment, remove the mounting bolts from the modular duct under the dash. It will separate like a **** shell. Remove the four mounting screws from the heater core and pull the core up / out .

Replacing heater core in 2000 GMC sonoma. Dash is

Usually the whole hvac box has to come out of the vehicle to replace the heater core. Once the box is out it can be opened and the heater core removed. Be careful with all the vent doors and actuators, make note of how everything came apart. The last thing you want to do is have to remove the dash and box because something wasn't on just right. Good luck.
