Either fan is out of balance (slung off balance clip or cracked at the center mount) or something has gotten into the fan. I've personally had things such as pencils in the fan that fell down through the defroster vents. I've also (living in rural area) had a mouse die in the fan. It not only went "thump, thump, thump", but it really stunk up the truck! Remove the fan to check for foreign items or damage to the squirrel cage.

I have a 2007 mazda cx7,it makes a very loud noise from the engine.like a broken timing chain, but drives well apart from the loud noise at all times hot or cold its the same sound loud rattling sound.from...

could be time for a new timing set. depends how many miles are on the engine and if something has gone wrong. they don't last forever and the belts need to be change every 75k to 100k to save doing damage to the valves and piston if it were to break. the chains will last a lot longer but still wear out

I have a lincoln ls 2002 and a few days ago i was driving it and the fan came on and it was very loud and now everytime i drive it the fan comes on and stays on acting as if it was connected directly..what...

there is a heat sensor that turns fan on when motor temp is to high. ( providing this is a electric fan ) Check coolant level and make sure full as well as the reservoir.Check when engine is cold ( i suggest taking vehicle in for repair or check for temp sensor failure.) I dont know how very loud you are trying to point out but yes it will make a fan noise which might be loud to some. If this fan is a clutch fan then a mechanical funtion takes place turning fan on and off in essence. If clutch is not releasing fan will pull air at all times which also will be like a loud fan sound which will also rob car of some power and mpg. clutch will have to be replaced. ( note the electric fan will not rob car of power or mpg.

2000 Beetle Loud Whirring at start up

its your secondary air pump. it turns on in the cold morning to inject more air into your exhaust, something about emission. its normal to be high pitched. once on my car it was way loud, i looked and the hose had disconnected. either way its normal if its not super loud. but if its everyone is looking at me loud then check for loose hoses!
