Changing a oil pan for a 95 grand marquis

Just loosen oil plug and drain...take out pan bolts... drop down...make sure alt gasket material is off of both pan and bottom of motor. Lay new gasket on oil pan...possibly use gasket sealer to keep gasket in place...a very thin layer on oil pan then put gasket on. Let dry for a bit then bolt back up...make sure oil plug is back in then refill....cheers!

Oil pan leaking.

not the easiest job at home but if you have way to lift the car securely and tools not a problem.
first lift the car and secure.drain the oil.remove the exhaust pipe to clear the oil pan, remove the bolts from oil pan. between the motor and transmission is a small plate.remove the plate to access two more bolt from the oil pan. with big flat screwdriver pray the pan on the back side.you will find lip on block and the pan to insert the pray bar or screwdriver.clean the pan from old gasket.clean the block from old gasket. install new gasket on the pan and insert 4 screw to hold in place.on front of the engine is the timing cover connection.one drop of silicon will seal the gap.place the pan and drive the 4 screw 3-4 turns.install the rest ant slightly tight all across. (ask you auto store for silicone gasket. the old cork is not so good) .tight all screw again.don't over tight.stop if the gasket start to deform out of the pan.replace the oil filter. refill oil and start the car.check for leaks.
good luck.

I just bout a 1995 nissan pickup, it needs an oil change and the oil pan is leaking. i would like to know if i need a certain type of oil filter, and how i can either fix or install a new oil pan into it....

if you have the 2.4 motor this is your oil filter Fram Extra Guard® - Oil Filter Part # PH3682 the oil pan comes out fairly easy,, you may have to remove some components to clear the sump pump that lays inside the pan, if you have a small enough hole, you can have it welded for pretty cheap, if you want to go that route, be sure whoever is doing the welding, drains the oil, and cleans the spot completely with brake cleaner or some other oil removing solvent, and let dry completely , if its just leaking around the gasket,, drop the pan and replace the gasket

1998 olds Aurora i have an oil leak, is it common

There are common places, you'll just have to look around to see where the leak is:
Around the oil filter and the housing
Around the oil pan and the pan gasket
The oil seal behind the damper pulley
Valve cover gaskets
These are the most common places, leaks can spring up anywhere.

1998 aurora oil pan leaking profusly looks like it is coming from the oil pan not sure

it's the oilpan gasket. it's a northstar motor. the caddys with the northstar do it to. mine does it as well. just go to autozone and get some leak stop :) within a thousand miles you'll be nice and dry. it's just a problem the motors had for a few years
