The fuse is located inside the fuse box that is under left side under dash.

1998 vw golf rear brake light problem, fuses arnt blowen?

Hello Samuel,

I would start my looking at the BRAKE PEDAL itself...

Your switch is located there above the pedal.

It is a single lead switch... You can check the CIRCUIT DRAWINGS FREE at BBB Industries site at
BBB Industries Premium Alternators Starters Power Steering Products

Registration is required...
These are real documents & Technical Service Bulletins
(TSBs).

Also please see the SWITCH itself... EXAMPLE:

I think you may have 2 probs there. 1 the fuse or relay or main switch for the windows. 2 a sticky door lock (Is one hard to push the lock button down on sometimes)

1998 golf gti vr6 power sunroof doesn't close when i turn key at the door

Check your wires and fuses, I am having a similar problem myself as the windows open, but not the sunroof and this is a feature that VW had on most of these models with power locks, even my 96 Gti did it. I will repost with what fixed it ASAP.

switch ignition on
insert key to be programmed into drivers door lock

press lock or unlock button
wait at least 1second
press lock or unlock button again
vehicle horn sounds to indicate correct programming.
