YES IF THAT FAN DOES NOT WORK IT WILL CAUSE ALL KINDS OF PROBLEMS. YOUR CAR WILL OVERHEAT, THE A/C WILL BURN UP BECAUSE IT IS NOT COOLING PROPERLY. LOOK AT THE CONECTOR ON THE FAN MOTOR TO SEE IF IT IS MELTED, WE SEE THAT ALL THE TIME. THE WAY YOU CAN CHECK THE MOTOR IS WITH A TEST LIGHT. WITH THE CAR RUNNING CHECK TO SEE IF YOU HAVE POWER AT THE MOTOR. YOU WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO CHANGE IT OUT. I DIDN'T ON MY 2000 626 AND IT COST ME 800.00 TO REPAIR THE A/C AND THE FAN

How to tell if the waterpump is faulty

Hi Charlene:
A faulty water pump will usually give you some indications.
1) Look for a coolant leak. Not always evident
2) Grasp the fan and see if it will wobble. A bad bearing can happen without the seal leaking.
3) Rattling sound could come from alternator, air conditioning compressor, tension idler, or power steering.
Use a mechanics stethescope or dowel sound rod to CAREFULLY listen to the different parts with the engine running. You will hear the faulty part.

Rattle noise coming from pulley area when ac is on in 2008 ford focus

If you have not performed any service, might be a good idea to replace the components that you have mentioned and check to see if the problems go away.

A/c compressor clutch will not engage, full charge of freon and i can hear the relay clicking calling for the compressor to kick on. Could it be a fuse in the fuse block under the hood or could it be that...

I hope as well that the compressor is not bad just for reasons you'r most likely aware of, the COST. The main thing you might want to do is check to see if power is running to the compressor directly with a multimeter. If there is power then most likely you will need to replace the compressor. The main thing that may happen like you mentioned above is that the compressor is self locked up. One way you can tell is if is you serpentine belt will turn the pulley when you start the engine. Take a look at the pulley when the engine is on. If you hear an unusual noise or see smoke then it will most likely lock up soon. When that does happen is will most likely throw you'r belt of the pulley after it locks up. The reason for the compressor being so expensive to repair is for a couple reasons. The system is pressurized and requires special tools when removing it to store the freon. Also when you replace the compressor it is always wise to replace the orifice tube, accumulator and hoses as well just to lower the risk of it going out again.

Hope this Helps!

My air condition belt broke in my 2001 Tahoe how can I tell if Compressor or Pulley is bad without belt?

The test is a simple one, with engine off and cooled down test the pulleys by hand, turn them slowly in the direction of rotation and feel for a binding sound or feel, if you feel a noticable bind and noise your culprit is the pulley or the a/c compressor.
Test whatever else runs off this belt as well by doing the same test.

COOLING FAN DOES NOT COME ON AT ALL WITH OR WITHOUT THE A/C ON THE ONLY WAY IT WORKS IS IF I HOT WIRE THE FAN. AND THE A/C COMPRESSOS IS ACTING LIKE IT IS STRUGGLING. WHAT CAN THIS MEAN?

either the a/c compressor has taken water in to its bearing through the belt pulley. this can be done by removing the serpentine belt from the pulley and checking the play in the pulley and spinning in to see what you hear and feel.if not free moving or has excessive play. replace the a/c compressor.

Second solution; check the fan switch on the car. If thats what your hot wiring from the battery, that means the switch to work the fan works. and tells me that the coolant temp sensor isnt working. The cooling temp sensor sends the signal to the fan switch(ie like your hot wiring.) to work the fan.
the coolant temp switch is about £10. so $15-20

Hope ill be a help

When trailblazer is on, i hear a loud squeeking sound. when checking engine i noticed that the radiator cooling fan and pulley move up and down. does not seem to be wobbling at all just moving up and down....

Sounds like your fan clutch is going bad. If you can move the fan by hand then I recommend changing the fan clutch. If it completely fails your fan will be shot through your radiator.

How can i tell if my water pump is bad?

most of the time when a pump goes bad in starts to leak after you shut off the engine. May not be much and it may or may not leak enough to see it on the ground. Look around the water pump and see if you can see any wet spots and look at the water pump it self and it has weep holes one on the bottom and top see if you see any leakage from there if so the pump is bad

Noise coming from a pulley.Stops when i turn the the blower/fan on inside the car.Which pulley would it be? This is on a 2001 Grand Am. Also when the fan is on it doesnt sound quite normal;has a little...

the noise you are probably hearing is the A/C compressor clutch dragging... when you turn the fan on inside the car it must be on either a/c or defrost to turn the compressor on engaging the clutch and eliminating the noise... The clutch can be pulled back with a clutch removal tool.. see a mechanic and he should know what to do.
