On a 1998 dodge ram 4x4 , where is the engine coolant sensor located ?

you have to remove the alternator and the water hose on the top.when this is done youll see two sensors the one to the left is tempertue sending and the one to right is the coolant temparture sensor a little harder get out, but be patient with it.coolant temperture has two wires and temperture sending has one. for the amount work i would change both sensors the hose and the thermostat. take the themostat cover off and leave thermostat in place until you change sensors in case you drop something it wont fall into the hole.this should make it easier to get at the sensor to the right. thermostat should be a 195.sensors look alike but are differentDuralast/Coolant Temperature Sensor, Part Number: SU3035

Running hot & fans work and no coolant lost but temparture stays at 245 or higher

There are a few little things that can be done first before big money is spent.
1st. Verify that the car is running hot by checking the water temp with an thermometer in the water to make sure it's not getting a false reading
2nd Verify thermostat is working correctly.
3rd have your radiator flushed out to remove any possible obstructions.
replace the radiator if there is still not enough flow after the flush

Where is the temparture sensor on a 97 chevy blazer 4.3

There are two temperature sensors on the engine. One is designed to send information to your engine control module. The other information to your gauge in the vehicle. It would be a good idea to check your coolant level as on this model they are noted for leaking coolant from their intake gaskets. Also when engine has been driven for a while see if the upper radiator hose is hot to the touch. You may have a thermostat that is stuck open causing your condition.

How do I check a intake air temparture sensor on a 2000 olds silhouette

You could check it with a meter compared to a new part, or with a scanner.
It provides resistance in the circuit to the computer depending on temp.

I have a 2006 cadillac dts and on a couple times i've noticecd that when using the defrost in stop and go traffic that the temparture gets extremely hot. last the there was a message stating that the...

What your problem is indicating is that for some reason, insufficient coolant is being circulated through the engine. There could be many causes for this, the most common listed below:
  1. Low coolant level
  2. Bad thermostat preventing additional coolant from reservoir from entering the system
  3. Leaking radiator hose
  4. Leaking radiator
  5. Bad water pump - a symptom of a bad water pump is the inability to adequately circulate coolant throughout the engine. This is especially true at low speeds or at a stop when the water pump turns at it's slowest.
I hope you find that I've adequately answered your question.

My service engine soon light came on and the same time I noticed the temparture gage is not working, what is the problem?

check connector on temperature sensor. If connector is good, you may need a new sensor. You can get a free scan of your car at your local auto parts chain, which may confirm a bad sensor or point to a different cause. Write down the trouble code and send to us for analysis and repair recommendations.

The coolant temperature sensor is installed on the transmission side of the engine (driver side of the car) as shown below.

No heat frim 2004 nissan murano

Check your coolant levels 1st, on both cars. If you've already changed out the T-stats, then you need to move on to the temp sensors, might be bad, but if your check engine light is on, pull the codes and see where that points you.
