No brake lightd on 1996 dodge caravan

Working on my daughters 96 caravan, she doesn't have owners manual, of course. No brake lights, except for the rear window 3rd brake light. I replaced the bulbs, still don't work. Have no idea where fuse box is? Any other ideas, if not fuse box?

I also concur on the bad break light switch. Had one go bad myself. Check fuse first then go to the switch. Attached to the back side of the break pedle. Turn 1/4 turn clockwise or counterclockwise and remove. unplug wiring harness. install new switch.Easy to replace. will take you 5 min or less.

You might have a bad break light switch. It is in the break pedal area. If you probe the wires on the switch one should be battery voltage. If no voltage then the problem is most likely a fuse. I don't know exactly which fuse it is. If you have power at the switch then check the other wire and see if it has battery voltage when you press the break pedal. If you have power when you press the break then there is a problem with the wire going back to the lights or the circuits for the directional sighal/emergency circuits because they are also using these lights. I hope this helps you to at least define the a possible cause.

Check all the fuses, I have seen a wierd situation where the third brake light worked, but not the regular brake lights...replacing the blown cigarette lighter fuse fixed this... although it really shouldn't have.

Any fuses that have to do with brake light. You usually can find them all in your owner's manual.

Do your fourway flashers work?
This problem is likely a burned out flasher unit. Generally this is an easy item to fix on any car. On your dodge it might be somewhat harder. You will need to consult your user manual to find the flasher location.

96 dodge caravan-when i go to stop the brakes make a noise like the abs is kicking in and the brake pedal does not want to go down(seems to be frozen in up position)have to pump the brakes in order to stop...

check the tone rings on the axles sometimes they crack and cause the abs to in gauge. If you find one that is cracked the axle has to be replaced

My 96 Caravan just went over the 100k mark. This morning, my ABS indicator came on. I don't detect any braking difficulty; what are possible reasons/fixes?

It's possible that you have a wheel speed sensor problem ..but otherwise your brakes will function normally but your abs will not longer work
