Which side of the block is number 1 cylinder of a holden black 308

ANSWERED BY FINANCIALGUIDEBLOG.COM TEAM
The number 1 cylinder of a Holden black 308 engine is located on the left side of the block (viewed from the rear) slightly above and forward of the starter motor mounting pad. The engine prefix, which identifies the capacity, compression ratio, transmission, etc., is stamped on a pad above the engine mounting on the same side of the block.

The cylinder heads have a casting number on the top left (viewed from the rear) side toward the front of the engine. Some heads may have a letter B or X cast into them, indicating a high-performance or limited-use variant.

The Holden black 308 engine was used in various models of Holden cars from 1985 to 1990, such as the Commodore, Calais, Statesman, and Caprice. It was a 5.0 litre V8 engine with a bore of 101.6 mm and a stroke of 76.8 mm. It produced 122 kW of power and 323 Nm of torque.

The Holden black 308 engine is a popular choice for enthusiasts who want to modify or restore their classic Holden cars. 2006 Holden Viva. Location of engine number on it please.

Question edited for clarity
Question moved from 'Point Computers'.

Front of the engine block near the timing case is best guess and the usual place. You just need a flashlight and a small mirror taped to a coat hanger. No one records where engine numbers are, because few people need it. The link might work better for you because Fixya is in North America and Holden is a South Africa and Australia brand.

Hi what paint colour is 567-01286 and 567-15944 Holden he

Hi Stephen I could be wrong but these numbers I don't think are correct for a paint code for a Holden.
There should be a plate on either the engine fire wall or above the radiator or right hand strut mount or right B pillar as you open the door. or check left side B pillar or in boot by spare wheel. It is normally a short number with a letter or two within it. Alternatively call Holden and see if these numbers make any sense to them Good luck
