While driving down the road my pontiac sunfire SE 2.2 down the road i noticed that the DRL light was flashing so i turned around and went home to check it out when i got home i tryied to turn the car over again to see it it did it again this time i got a really fast beeping sound and it would not turn over. after i got out of the car i relized that my fuel pump was still running so i very quickly disconected my battory. after reconecting it the fuel pump was off and the car started it started for about three times and then went back to what it was doing in the first place any ideas on what it might be? help please

My guess would be either a sticking relay or a faulty ignition switch.

Suggestions: loose/corroded connection between the fuel pump and the computer; short between the fuel pump and computer; computer firmware needs to be reset.

Its likely that you have either a bad ignition switch or a bad neutral safety switch (if stickshift, clutch switch) Try starting in neutral...if it starts, change neutral switch (jump across clutch switch, check starting in neutral with your foot on the brake) Ignition switch is on top of steering column under dash.

Crank position sensor bad?
Are you sure the fuel pump is working? Might be the sending unit in the fuel pump that is bad. Clogged lines, clogged fuel injectors, clogged fuel filter, all things that could be checked.

Starter solenoid , or wire that leads to it.

Also , if standard transmission , may be the switch on clutch pedal is intermitant.

Engine won't turn over unless it thinks you have your foot on the clutch.

Your, car has a crankshaft sensor that, may not working.
Check, the sensor, it is located ( Near the Crankshaft,) You'll
need to look from under the car.
Or It may just NOT have a good connection.
Wet, DIRT bad connection rust on connector.

The common problems with DRL system is wires open circuit near the windshield washer tank. The wiring harness to the headlights.

You have to find the wires that are in open circuit or corroded
hint : after removing the isolated tape pull each wire one at a time and you should find the open circuit

Hello and welcome to Fixya!

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you remove the positive batter connector and let it sit for atleast 5mins. before reconnecting it. This will reset the system and can get your vehicle back to it's normal operation.

Please do keep me posted on the progress. I'll be glad to help you out. Hope this helps and thank you for using Fixya! Have a good one!

You have an ABS Braking System Malfunction

Just sillly for a professional to say there is nothing
wrong

Your car is not safe to use at all

Need a different repair shop & make sure they
underdstand all the details of the issue & they
write down what you tell them

I never recommend a dealer, but in your area that
may be an option. Don't take it back until they drive
100 miles with no issues

Turn the signal light on to the right and probe the contacts in the bulb socket with a test light to see if the power is there, your test light should blink, the other contact in the socket is the parking lights and tail light.
if no power at contacts probe the wire it's self where it enters the socket for power.if you have it there the socket is faulty.
