Question about 2006 Volkswagen Jetta

Emissions warning light came on. Car runs great

Emissions warning light came on. Car runs great. Went off the next day. Took it to the dealer for diagnosis. Said that one or both cooling fans were about to fail. Cost $800 + to replace. Reset computer and same thing happened. Light on ; Light Off.

What is happening? Broken computer / warning light? Are fans about to fail?

It may be the computer itself. If the light keeps returning, either the computer is faulty or the fans are really failing. I do not recommend dealers but actual mechanic shops.

It's a 2006 Jetta? No way both fans are bad. Has to be a temp sensor or bad wire. Even if one just happens to be bad which I doubt, there is nothing to worry about.

2004 Nissan Altima 3.5L BATTERY LIGHT went on during 15 minute drive. Next day car "died" while idling after a 20 minute drive. BRAKE WARNING LIGHT & BATTERY LIGHT on prior to full electrical failure.

Start with checking the alternator voltage with a multimeter. With the car off check the voltage in the battery which should be holding 12v charged less if flat of course then start the car and test the battery again. If the alternator is good you should be getting a reading of 14 to 14.5 v if it's the alternator it'll A) not put any charge into the battery or B) be a very low voltage being anything under 13.5 v

Why is exhaust emissions light on?

Take a "good run" over to the dealer and have the O2 sensor(s) checked as well as the catalytic converter(s). Something isn't right and the dealer wants you to pay for repairs.

Go into the the dealers service repair bay
Ask for the service manager
Then ask for the techs that worked on your
vehicle.
Bring all your paper work
Ask them the questions.
Any other approach is a waste of time,

Welcome to the world of BMW's. return the car to the seller. you got a bad one. You got an electrical short draining the battery. Bring a blank check and sign it over to the dealer. They're going to have to run through the entire electrical system to find the short. That work alone is worth more than the a used up 2001 325i.

I have a 2009 LE and the abs & brake warning light came on. Took it to the dealer, it is a known problem on some corollas. They ordered a speed sensor ($650) which is covered on the 60K warranty. The light went off the next day (part is not yet installed).

Emissions warning light stays on have had it to dealer and still on what now wagon r+

If you paid the Dealer to find out what was wrong (why the light was on), he should have told you. If you paid the Dealer to fix the problem, you should not have the light on now. Either way, if he has your money, you should either know what needs fixing or what he fixed. Go back to the Dealer and get what you paid for.
If of course, you took your car in for a service and you haven't been charged anything extra, then chances are nothing has been done.
Most Dealerships are normally phoning customers back saying this needs doing or that needs doing, after you have taken the car in unaware that anything needed doing (mostly it doesn't either).
Even without mentioning a "Check Engine" or emissions warning light being on, this should have been picked by any self-respecting mechanic, and an assurance may have even been sought from you that were aware that they hadn't done anything to rectify it before you took the car.
Having said all that, the most common problems with emissions and/or check engine warning lamps being on (in general - not just Suzuki) would be from oxygen sensors and cat converter temp probe failures. These sensors sit quietly in the exhaust system baking away at 1000 degrees telling the ECM it's running too rich or lean (O2 sensor) or that the cat convertor is too hot (usually after its been running too lean!).
Go back to the Dealer and find out what has failed. Don't tell him to fix it (unless you've already paid) as some of these sensors can be many hundreds of dollars.
