Question about 1988 Buick LeSabre

1 Answer

Buick LeSaber ignition will not turn off.

A friend has an 88 or 89 Buick LaSabre that once the car started the ignition switch will not turn to shut the car off. I suspect the ignition switch went back and needs to be replaced. I am looking for a procedure to remove the old ignition switch.

Thank you in advance.

There is a pin on the ignition switch you can press that will release the switch for you to turn and pull out.

The filter is mounted on the frame rail under the car but in my experience the filter will never cause that. It is a high flow system.

1991 buick lasabre is burning out ignition switch fuses

Just for the record, its a 60amp not 60 watt.
I don't see a fuse that big in the fuse box inside the car, so I am wondering which fuse you are talking about.
Regardless, you would need to trace the circuit to look for a short to ground or a component problem.

How to reset the alarm on my buick lasabre won't let me start my car

If you have a key with a computer chip inside, you may need to try another key. The ignition lock "reads" the resistance in your key to let the ignition work. If you only have one key you may need to get a new one.

pull steering wheel, you need a tool to compress the spring behind the steering wheel lock mechanism(round plate with holes on edges) there is a bolt/pin that locks the tumbler in. the key may have to be turned to the on position to release it. (Be Patient)

I have a 1994 buick lesaber limited my fan won't turn off

It is normal for the fan to run a couple of minutes after the engine stops running. If it still runs it could be a bad thermostatic switch.
