it doesn't have a dipstick it's under the car on the passenger side the only way you can tell if you need fluid is to pull the little hose out and let it drip into a little pan if you see no drip then you need fluid

There is no dipstick. The engine and transmission was designed by Isuzu up till 2002, and the automatic transmission was a sealed, no-maint. transmission. You will either need to purchase the special tools needed, or...........that's right, go to a transmission shop!!!

Where do you add transmission fluid?

You add transmission fluid through the transmission dipstick tube, same one that you check the fluid level through. Use a small, long neck funnel that fits into the dipstick tube.

Where is the automatic transmission stick to check the fluid?

Is you Passport automatic or manual? If it is manual (stick-shift), there is no dip stick. There is only one on auto transmission. If you have an automatic and not a manual, please let me know, and I will try to help further.

Does not have dip stick to check transmission fluid

Hello.
If your Nissan Passport is a manual transmission, your are correct, they do not have a dipstick to check the fluid level. You will have to go under the car and manually check the level.
Hope this helps!

How do you add transmission fluid to a 2001 Honda Passport?

If you are looking to add transmission fluid you will need to first purchase a fluid pump at your local car repair store. Most run between $10 and 25$. For best results, run your car for a few minutes to bring the fluids to operating temperatures before attempting to add fluid. Be careful of hot surfaces and liquids.
Remove the top most bolt on the automatic transmission fluid pan (most use a 3/4 inch socket). Using the fluid pump, slowly add transmission fluid until it starts to drip out. Replace the bolt. Take care not to over tighten the bolt.
If you want to be thorough, start your car and while your foot is on the brake, run your transmission through the gears slowly. Turn off your car. Remove the fill bolt and check the fluid level again.

Locating transmission fluid

I believe those transmissions are computer controlled. There should be a light that comes on when you need to put more fluid in. Only way to actually KNOW how much is in there is to change the tranny filter/pan gasket and see how much drains out

Transmission dip stick

The passport has a seeled transmission, the only way you can have it checked is to bring it to a dealership.. One major thing they leave out when you purchase, I would call around and see if a garage has the capabilities to do it.
