Problem for GMC 1997 Jimmy

The destributor cap was loose, engine was running

the destributor cap was loose, engine was running ruff, replaced cap, tuck running fine. After 100 miles it is running ruff again and check engine light is on. I found a hose around the destrutor cap, looks like a vac hose but cant find a place for it. Computor say engine is mis-firing.

When's the last time you replaced the spark plug wires? Try that for you mis-fire. As for the vacuum hose, there should be a routing diagram somewhere on the hood or engine compartment somewhere. Trace it out and find where it should go. Oh BTW, bad spark plug wires can ruin a distributor cap.
