Question about 2001 Mercedes-Benz S-Class
I believe that the command systems have an updated software kit and you can have it flashed at the dealer. I have never seen the flash software at an independent shop. Although you can have the c.d. drive replaced at any reputable mercedes repair facility because they will have to have a command capablility software to communicate with the unit. I would try to remove the power fuse and disconnect the power for 10 minutes to drain the capacitors and see if the power cycle resets your disc drive. you should have a fuse schematic either in the l. side of your dash under the plastic cover accessible with the driver's door open or in the tool kit in the trunk orin the l or r side of the trunk in a foam insert-they put them in various places in various models and I do not recall exactly which spot it is in. I hope I have been helpful.

I have been told to remove fuse for sat nav should be no 28 but in boot of car near sat nav cassette fuses in box only go upto 20. Am I looking in the right place?
