Sounds like the cluster circuit board is on the way out - not a big job, you may even be able to find one in a junkyard - just make sure the cluster is exactly the same.

If someone didn't turn Traction Control off by means of a button, it is telling you Traction Control is OFF or malfunctioning. Instrument panels lights are supposed to illuminate as a lamp test for a couple of seconds each time you start the engine. If the Traction Control is not operational you should have it checked by a dealer, they are familiar with your car and have likely seen this before. Traction Control is an important safety feature that needs to work properly to help you avoid loss of control while driving in slippery road conditions.

Do an online search for speedometer repair places. You can get yours rebuilt for a fraction of the price of new or junkyard

Speedometer lights on the dashboard

I'd think maybe a failing rheostat in the instrument panel.

I have a 1995 Dodge Grand Caravan. The dashboard gauges just stopped working, no speedometer, no fuel gauge, no odometer, no Thermo (engine H-C)Gauge. Checked fuses, b ut don't believe speedometer...

Okay...I've answered this question about 100 times. And anyone that's listened to me has fixed their problem. I know it sounds unconventional...but trust me because you have nothing to lose at this point. Go out to the vehicle...turn the key on the run position...hit the dashboard above the steering wheel hard. Not hard enough to break it or you...but hard. A couple times if necessary. Everything should spring to life. What usually happens is the instrument cluster plug (contact) becomes corroded and loses contact. Either that or the solder joints have become compromised and lost contact. It'll mean that you'll have to replace the instrument cluster. Are the lights by the heater control flashing? I suggest this as a diagnostic application only. Try it and then get back to me. If it works, which it should...PLEASE leave a comment and rate my assistance. Had someone done it in the past, you would know that it works and fixed it already. You can check my comments from waaaaaaay back. One of the Fixya experts tried it and left a comment. It works (a day, week, month, year it depends). It's not a new vehicle and money in your pocket is found money. Thanks.

1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager.........Dashboard instruments quit working and don't light up. Speedo, tach, fuel gauge, temp gauge, and mileage indicators and lights for same stopped working. ABS...

You have some wiring problems shorting out that is coming from the dash board so if you or anyone you know how to use a multimeter to check the wireing harnesses plus check any connectors that might be just very touching the connector of dashboard which means a bad connection to dashboard.

Speedometer,Gas gauge, heat gauge and RPM is not working. what do I look for?

The contacts on where the instrument cluster plug in in the back. If you check my comments you will see that this diagnostic approach works. As unconventional as it may sound. Turn the key on in the run position, but don't start the vehicle. Hit the dash board just above the steering wheel kinda hard. But don't hurt yourself. If you watch the instruments, they should come back on. This is by no means a way to fix it. It may work for a week, or it may work for a couple of years. It didn't fix the problem. If you're more comfortable, push back on the instrument cluster face and wiggle it back and forth. It will take longer but also works. Then start looking for a new cluster and/or someone to install it. If I've helped, please rate my assistance and leave a comment to let others like yourself know that it worked, and help them too. Thank you, and good luck.

My dashboard doesnt work. Everything is on zero. The car runs fine and starts fine but I have no idea how fast Im going or how much gas I have left. The service engine soon light is on and the ABS light....

Don't know how handy you may be but would seriously consider removing instrument cluster, and checking solder on circuit board. Just did mine, wasn't hard, maybe a couple of hours work. Nice small, pointed solder gun will be needed as well. They have had many weird problems with gauges, starting, running etc, all narrowed down to that printed circuit board, where the solder on the contact pins become corroded or cracked and cause some pretty weird stuff. At the very least, try removing dash enough to remove 4 screws holding cluster in, and pulling off connectors and putting them back on a couple of times, just in case it's just a dirty connection. If you decide you want to try it, and need more specific instructions, let me know, or even google , Dodge or Plymouth instrument cluster soldering, as there is some pictures and videos out there on the subject. Good Luck, and let me know how you make out.

I've got a 1991 BMW 525i which has done 253,000 km. It's been a good car but, the instrument panel on the dashboard has gone silly over the past couple of weeks. When I first start the car in the morning,...

this is just a rough guess, but i think it would be the battery or the alternator. Some part store have testers that they will check both for free.
