1998 Hyundai Accent clutch pedal travel

I have a 1998 accent and the clutch pedal has to go right to the floor to be able to shift. Is this normal and if not, how do I fix this?

    Thanks for responding,

The fluid level is good and the clutch does work but only fully depressed to the floor. I will try to bleed the the air out (if any) and see how that works. Can I use DOT5 fluid or stay with DOT3?

Thanks in advance for any help.

the clutch operation is hydraulic so your problem may be that it may only need the hydraulics bleeding ? or you may have a leak on the slave cylinder (the cyl at g/box ) check your fluid level in reservoir ?

I had the exact thing happening to my 98 accent, There is a pedal adjustment under the dash.
the pedal has a clevis that goes to the cylinder rod.....loosen the jam nut and turn the rod so it pushes the pedal up.......took about 15 minutes, there's not much room under there, but it works like a charm now.

SOURCE: Clutch pedal low near floor, can the clutch be adjusted?

hi the clutch on accent is hydraulic operation so if pedal is very low on disengaging clutch ? you may have a problem with the hydraulics 1st thing to check is fluid level? this is the reservoir that feeds both brakes and clutch but is seperaterated inside if fluid low? top up and bleed the slave cyl however if fluid low indicates a leak ? possibly slave cyl? if no loss of fluid ? then prob may be fault in the master cyl ? check fluid come back with any update please ps if this problem has just occured? check for leaks ?

SOURCE: how do you remove radio from hyundai accent 1998

You have to take out the ash tray, and remove those two screws, then pop out the center dash trim. Careful, though, you have to take out a lot of the wiring inside of your center dash trim in order to pull it out for enough room to move the radio in and out. I'm doing this right now, actually..

My 1998 accent gl makes a pressure like noise when i press the clutch down

This could be a dry pedal shaft bush ( bit of WD-40 spray) or the first signs that the master cylinder rubbers are dry and the cylinder is facing replacement.

2002 Auto Hyundai Accent stuck in second gear will not go up

having the transmission rebuilt in 2010 means that the tranny is 7 years old since service so there can be any amount of faults
run the fault codes to check for problem TCM, VSS, servos and solenoids
check the vacuum actuator for the transmission and vacuum lines
change the transmission oil
the engine light also reports on transmission failures

2008 hyundai accent clutch slipping, i think?

seems a bit early for clutch. how many k's? I would start by checking the intake tube for splits & security & airflow sensor. they will cause the engine to rev but no response (like a slipping clutch) so its manual right?

Can you adjust the clutch on a 2002 hyundai accent

The clutch in this car is a hydraulic design and is self adjusting. If you have a hard pedal with high pedal engagement or a slipping condition you are going to need a new clutch installed.

My 2005 hyundai accent wont shift out of park unless i use the shift lock override. any advice?

on most cars when u step on the brake pedal youll hear a "click" near the center console which is the shift solenoid releasing the "lock" on the floor shifter allowing the shifter to come out of park.check to make sure all the fuses are good and check the brake lite switch(es) and wiringfrom brake lite switch to shifter solenoid.a wiring diagram always helps.
