91 firebird v6 3.1 It started up drove it around block let sit for 45 minutes then went to start it and it just turns over and starts while cranking but dies right out when in ign is in run? what could it be?

- i recieved the car for free minus interior and powersteering pump other than that car in top shape and have most interior parts. however the guy that gave me the car told me that they could not get the car to go over 25 miles an hour. When i drove it around the block i got up to about 45 but i dun have tags on it so i didnt wanna push my luck if that helps.Jul 08, 2009
- i have about 45 pounds of pressure so its getting fuel its something telling the computer to shut down cuz even with starter fluid it wont stay running.. idk if its a sensor i replaced the oil pressure switch, switched out the ign mod and a new coil. which is a pain to change out lol and i still cant figure it out. itll idle at about 400 then just die out if you touch the gas or after a short period of timeSolution #1

check the fuel delivery system.. before you start your car turn the key on and listen towards the gas tank and double check to make sure fuel pump is working.. replacing the fuel filter and running injector cleaner will always help your car run alot better and only costs 25 bucks total
