Question about 2003 Ford F250 Super Duty Crew Cab
My F 250 Super Duty is making a whirring sound periodically. From the cab with the windows down it sounds like you made a phone call and then set the phone down but could still hear the ringing on the other end. Its at about that speed and consistancy. It does it the same hot or cold. The air conditioner doesn't work so I thought it might have something to do with it. It holds oil and doesn't ever overheat and doesn't seem to affect anything else in the truck (all the gauges still work too). When I open the hood I can hear it click on and off. I'm thinking maybe it's pump that is kicking on but whatever it is I don't want to wear it out...
If the problem goes away after you turn a/c off then it is your compressor if it it dont then it sounds like a heat shield resonating ck for loose shields
